Digimarc Corporation (Digimarc), formerly DMRC Corporation, incorporated in 1995, enables governments and enterprises around the world to give digital identities to media and objects that computers can sense and recognize, and to which they can react. The Company’s technology provides the means to infuse digital information, perceptible only to computers and digital devices, into all forms of media content. The digital identifier placed in media persists with it regardless of the distribution path and whether it is copied, manipulated or converted to a different format. On August 1, 2008, L-1 Identity Solutions, Inc. completed the acquisition of the Digimarc Corporation’s (Old Digimarc) identification documents (ID) systems business. As a result, Old Digimarc became a wholly owned subsidiary of L-1 and changed its name to L-1 Secure Credentialing, Inc. Prior to the completion of the merger, Old Digimarc had transferred its digital watermarking business to DMRC Corporation, which changed its name to Digimarc following the merger.

The Company’s intellectual property (IP) include a signal processing technology known as digital watermarking, which allows imperceptible digital information to be embedded in all forms of digitally designed, produced or distributed media content and some physical objects, including photographs, movies, music, television, personal identification documents, financial instruments, industrial parts and product packages. The digital information can be detected and read by a range of computers, mobile phones, and other digital devices. The Company provides technology-based solutions directly and through its licensees.

The Company provides media identification and management solutions to commercial entities and government customers, and licenses its technology to other solution providers. It licenses its technology primarily to commercial entities that use its technology and inventions to address opportunities in the media and entertainment industry. Licensees of the Company’s technology or IP include AquaMobile, Microsoft Corporation, Mobile Data Systems, Inc., The Nielsen Company, Civolution, Signum Technologies, Thomson Multimedia, S.A., USA Video, Verance Corporation, Verimatrix, Inc. and VCP (an affiliate of VEIL Interactive Technologies).
