Exponent, Inc., incorporated on May 9, 1989, is a science and engineering consulting firm that provides solutions to complex problems. The Company's Industrial Structures Practice provides planning, assessment, rehabilitation and dismantling analysis of bearing structures in four particular areas: antenna masts, power plants, buildings and special structures like refractories or tanks. The Company's environmental scientists and engineers provide scientifically defensible and realistic assessments and solutions to complex environmental issues. The Company offers technical, regulatory and litigation support to industries that includes manufacturing, mining and minerals, oil and gas, chemicals, forest products, railroads, aerospace, and trade associations. The Company's health scientists apply epidemiology to examine and address complex health issues in a range of settings. Through the principles of epidemiology, the Company analyzes the interaction of host, agent, and environment to reaches conclusions about the causes and occurrence of disease in human populations. The Company's health economics and outcomes research scientists determine the value of new medical technologies.
Exposure assessment is the science of estimating human exposure to chemical, physical, and biological agents, accounting for the frequency, magnitude, and duration of the exposure events. The Company's atmospheric scientists provide air quality and meteorological modeling, permitting, and licensing support services. Scientists in the Company's Center investigate potential and accidental releases of chemicals to the atmosphere, simulate transport and fate of chemical substances, and develop measures of prevention and control, such as emergency preparedness and response.
Occupational Medicine & Environmental Health Center is composed of industrial hygienists, safety professionals, physicians, and other scientists, with specialized training in the anticipation, recognition, evaluation, risk assessment and control of human health hazards in occupational and other environmental settings. The Company provides knowledge and experiences that improves decisions affecting the regulation of important substances in commerce. The Company works with its clients to resolve important issues that affect the safe use of a range of substances.
