It also offers IT consultation services to help customers install and operate IT. It provides a range of solutions for corporate IT strategies, including the use of big data via the Data Analytics Meister Service, which uses a range of technology, as well as cloud solutions consisting of reliable hardware. The Company runs an Internet cloud service called TWX-21 that allows enterprises to collaborate in various forms and to share information. It provides a range of IT platform solutions, including scalable storage solutions and network solutions. In addition, it offers security solutions for building secure information systems by using biometric platforms, including finger vein authentication, encryption solution, and other security-related technology. It undertakes all system-building work, such as finding the combination of hardware and software necessary to build an information system to support the customer's operations.
The Company provides a range of customized solutions and packaged software to support professional operations in industries, such as finance, manufacturing, distribution, wholesale and retailing, government (national and local governments, as well as public institutions), education and medicine. It provides storage systems, servers, networks, automated teller machines, scanners, micro devices, middleware and platform software, and applications. Its products include Storage Systems; File and Content Solutions; Hitachi Unified Compute Platform; Hitachi Compute Systems; Storage Area Network; Global IT Services, GNEXT; International Network Construction and Operation, NETFORWARD/GL; Video Conference; Storage Management Software, and Middleware for transferring data, HULFT.
Social Infrastructure & Industrial Systems
The Social Infrastructure & Industrial Systems segment offers a range of products and services, such as industrial machinery and plants, elevators, escalators, railway systems, thermal, nuclear and renewable energy power generation systems, and transmission and distribution systems. The Company's plant related equipment includes large pumps, compressors, building air conditioning systems, pharmaceutical plant and systems, steel plant and systems, power electronics, pharmaceutical plant and systems, logistics systems and industry control platform. Its information and control systems include electric systems for water and sewage, drinking water treatment systems, sewage treatment systems, industrial water treatment systems and seawater desalination and sewage treatment integrated system (remix water). Its industrial equipment systems include switches and breakers, transformers, rope hoist and chain hoist, air compressor, nitrogen gas generator, blower and continuous ink jet printer.
The Company's refrigeration and air conditioning equipment include commercial air conditioning and refrigerator, absorption and centrifugal chiller and compressor. It also offers power semiconductors, such as high voltage monolithic integrated circuits (ICs), insulated-gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) modules and power diodes. The Company has developed amorphous transformers that provide benefits in terms of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions reduction.
Electronic Systems & Equipment
The Company also supplies a range of production and inspection equipment for the semiconductors and other electronic devices that are needed to provide advanced functions in the electronic products. It develops high-precision manufacturing and inspection equipment for semiconductors and other electronic components to deliver solutions to markets, such as those for semiconductor packages and smartphones. It also helps provide the infrastructure for in vitro diagnostics through its work on clinical analyzers designed for high reliability. It supplies broadcasters around the world with products, such as high definition (HD) cameras designed for high image quality, and transmitters and other systems that ensure reliable broadcasting. It also offers product range of lightweight power tools designed for low noise and low vibration. Its products include semiconductor processing equipment, test and measurement equipment, advanced industrial products and medical electronics equipment. It also offers wireless communications and information systems; financial/stock exchange information systems; broadcasting and video systems; security and surveillance systems, and semiconductor manufacturing systems.
The Company supplies hydraulic excavators, wheel loaders, compaction equipment, and a range of other construction machinery. It develops and supplies construction machinery, including ultra large hydraulic excavators and dump trucks. The Company is also engaged in the development of electric-hydraulic excavators and battery-powered excavators, as well as a hybrid-hydraulic excavator.
High Functional Materials & Components
The High Functional Materials & Components segment consists of metal products, chemical products, and communication and transmission products. The Company supplies a range of chemical materials that deliver functional enhancements, such as an anode material for lithium-ion batteries with high capacity and discharge load characteristics, and high-thermal-conductivity sheets. Its chemical products include semiconductor related materials; carbon products, ceramics; resins and electrical insulating materials; functional films; photovoltaic related materials; printed wiring boards; display and touch panel related materials; diagnostics, and energy storage devices and systems. It also offers automobile-related products, electronics-related products and infrastructure-related products.
The Company's automotive systems business supplies a range of technologies and products that cover the fields of environment, safety and information, with operations in Japan, North, Central and South America, Europe, China and Asia. It offers automotive systems, such as engine management systems, electric powertrain systems, drive control systems and car information systems. It also offers navigational and audio visual systems, as well as lithium-ion batteries.
Smart Life & Ecofriendly Systems
The Company's Smart Life & Ecofriendly Systems segment includes a range of products, such as air-conditioning equipment, room air conditioners, refrigerators and washing machines. The Company also supplies a range of other consumer products, which include lighting products (primarily light emitting diodes (LEDs)), all-electric products, such as Eco Cute, and residential solar power generation systems.
The Company offers a range of Financial Services for Corporate/Consumer. The Company provides leasing and rental (industrial /construction machinery, medical equipment, IT and agricultural), automobile finance, renovation finance, card business, non-life insurance, securitization business and outsourcing business.
