The Macerich Company, incorporated on September 9, 1993, is a self-managed and self-administered real estate investment trust (REIT). The Company is engaged in the acquisition, ownership, development, redevelopment, management and leasing of regional and community/power shopping centers located throughout the United States. As of December 31, 2014, the Company, through its partnership and ownership interests in the Macerich Partnership, L.P., owned or had an ownership interest in 52 regional shopping centers and eight community/power shopping centers. These 60 regional and community/power shopping centers (, which include any related office space) consist of approximately 55 million square feet of gross leasable area (GLA). As of December 31, 2014, excluding Great Northern Mall, the Centers primarily included 194 Anchors totaling approximately 27.6 million square feet of GLA and approximately 6,000 Mall Stores and Freestanding Stores totaling approximately 24.9 million square feet of GLA.

The Company principally focuses on well-located, quality Regional Shopping Centers. The Company’s properties include Queens Center, Kings Plaza Shopping Center and Green Acres Mall in New York City; Tysons Corner Center in Northern Virginia; Arrowhead Towne Center, Biltmore Fashion Park, Kierland Commons, and Scottsdale Fashion Square; The Shops at North Bridge and Fashion Outlets of Chicago in Chicago; Broadway Plaza and Village at Corte Madera in Northern California; Los Cerritos Center and Santa Monica Place in Southern California, and Washington Square near Portland, Oregon.
