MFC is a life insurance company and the holding company of The Manufacturers Life Insurance Company (MLI) and John Hancock Reassurance Company Ltd. Its international network of employees, agents and distribution partners offers financial protection and wealth management products and services to millions of clients, as well as asset management services to institutional customers. MFC operates in five divisions: Asia Division, Canadian Division, U.S. Division, U.S. Wealth Management and Corporate and Other segment. In October 2012, its United States unit, John Hancock, acquired two new real estate assets. In October 2012, it acquired Wellington West Financial Services Inc., and a dealership registered with the Mutual Funds Dealers Association, from National Bank. In January 2013, the Company acquired Benesure Canada Inc.
