MGM Resorts International, incorporated on January 29, 1986, is a holding company. The Company, through its subsidiaries, owns and operates casino resorts. The Company operates in two segments: wholly owned domestic resorts and MGM China. The Company's casino resorts offer gaming, hotel, convention, dining, entertainment, retail and other resort amenities. The Company has additional business activities, including its investments in unconsolidated affiliates, and certain other corporate and management operations. The Company also owns Shadow Creek, a golf course located approximately 10 miles north of its Las Vegas Strip resorts, Primm Valley Golf Club at the California/Nevada state line and Fallen Oak golf course in Saucier, Mississippi. The Company owns and manages CityCenter Holdings, LLC, located between Bellagio and Monte Carlo. CityCenter consists of Aria, an integrated casino, hotel and entertainment resort; Mandarin Oriental Las Vegas, a non-gaming boutique hotel; Crystals, a retail, dining and entertainment district; and Vdara, a luxury condominium-hotel. In addition, CityCenter features residential units in the Residences at Mandarin Oriental and Veer. The Company owns Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa (Borgata) and Grand Victoria, a riverboat casino in Elgin, Illinois.
Wholly owned domestic resorts
The Company's wholly owned domestic resorts segment includes non-gaming operations, including hotel, food and beverage, entertainment and other non-gaming amenities. The Company's casino operations feature a range of slots, table games, and race and sports book wagering. In addition, it offers its players access to high-limit rooms and lounge experiences. Its customers include gaming customers; leisure and wholesale travel customers; business travelers, and group customers, including conventions, trade associations and small meetings. The Company operates approximately 12 wholly owned resorts in the United States. The Company's wholly owned domestic resorts consisted of casino resorts in Las Vegas, Nevada, which includes Bellagio, MGM Grand Las Vegas (including The Signature), Mandalay Bay (including Delano and Four Seasons), The Mirage, Luxor, New York-New York, Excalibur, Monte Carlo and Circus Circus Las Vegas. It also operates other casinos, which includes MGM Grand Detroit in Detroit, Michigan; Beau Rivage in Biloxi, Mississippi, and Gold Strike Tunica in Tunica, Mississippi.
MGM China's operations consist of the MGM Macau resort and casino (MGM Macau) and the development of an integrated casino, hotel, and entertainment resort on the Cotai Strip in Macau. The Company owns a controlling interest in MGM China Holdings Limited, which owns MGM Grand Paradise, S.A. (MGM Grand Paradise), the Macau company that owns and operates the MGM Macau resort and casino and the related gaming sub concession and land concession. The Company's three primary customer segments in the Macau gaming market are very important person (VIP) casino gaming operations, main floor gaming operations and slot machine operations.
