Navios Maritime Acquisition Corporation (Navios Acquisition), incorporated on March 14, 2008, is a holding company. The Company owns a fleet of crude oil, refined petroleum product and chemical tankers providing world-wide marine transportation services. The operations of Navios Acquisition are managed by Navios Tankers Management Inc. (the Manager), a subsidiary of Navios Maritime Holdings Inc. In January 2012, Navios Acquisition concluded the acquisition of three new build Medium Range 2 (MR2) product tankers. Its major customers, during the year ended December 31, 2011, were DOSCO, Blue Light Chartering Inc and Jacob Tank Chartering GMBH & CO. KG. During 2011, these three customers accounted for 43.9%, 11.5% and 11.3% respectively, of Navios Acquisition’s revenue.

As of December 31, 2011, the Company's fleet consisted of a total of 29 double-hulled tanker vessels, aggregating approximately 3.3 million deadweight tons. The fleet includes seven very large crude carrier (VLCC) tankers (over 200,000 deadweight tons per ship), which transports crude oil, eight Long Range 1 (LR1) product tankers (50,000-79,999 deadweight tons per ship), 12 MR2 product tankers (30,000-49,999 deadweight tons per ship) and two chemical tankers (25,000 deadweight tons per ship), which transports refined petroleum products and bulk liquid chemicals. Of the 29 vessels in its current fleet, the Company has taken delivery of seven VLCC tankers, three LR1 tankers, two MR2 product tankers and two chemical tankers.

On January 20, 2012, Navios Acquisition took delivery of the Nave Estella, a 75,000 deadweight tons LR1 product tanker, from a South Korean shipyard. On November 14, 2011, Navios Acquisition took delivery of the Nave Andromeda, a 75,000 deadweight tons LR1 South Korean-built product tanker. On July 18, 2011, Navios Acquisition took delivery of the Buddy, a MR2 product tanker vessel of 50,470 deadweight tons. On July 12, 2011, Navios Acquisition took delivery of the Bull, a MR2 product tanker vessel of 50,542 deadweight tons. On June 8, 2011, Navios Acquisition took delivery of a 297,066 deadweight tons VLCC, the Shinyo Kieran, from a Chinese shipyard. On January 27, 2011, Navios Acquisition took delivery of the Nave Polaris, a 25,145 deadweight tons South Korean-built chemical tanker.
