Pool Corporation, incorporated on December 29, 1993, is a wholesale distributor of swimming pool supplies, equipment and related leisure products. The Company is a distributor of irrigation and landscape products in the United States. As of December 31, 2012, it operated 312 sales centers in North America and Europe through its three distribution networks: SCP Distributors LLC, Superior Pool Products, and Horizon Distributors, Inc. It has over 400 product lines and over 50 product categories. The Company primarily serves five types of customers swimming pool remodelers and builders; specialty retailers that sell swimming pool supplies; swimming pool repair and service businesses; landscape construction and maintenance contractors, and government, golf courses and like commercial customers. The Company serves approximately 80,000 customers.

The Company offers its customers more than 160,000 national brand and Pool Corporation branded products. The company offers maintenance products such as chemicals, supplies and pool accessories; repair and replacement parts for pool equipment, such as cleaners, filters, heaters, pumps and lights; packaged pool kits, including walls, liners, braces and coping for in-ground and above-ground pools; pool equipment and components for new pool construction and the remodeling of existing pools; irrigation and landscape products, including irrigation system components and professional lawn care equipment and supplies, and other pool construction and recreational products, which consist of a number of product categories and includes building materials used for pool installations and remodeling, such as concrete, plumbing and electrical components and both functional and decorative pool surface and decking materials, and discretionary recreational and related outdoor lifestyle products that enhance consumers’ use and enjoyment of outdoor living spaces, such as spas, grills and components for outdoor kitchens.

The Company’s maintenance, repair and replacement products are of two types: maintenance and minor repair (non-discretionary) and major refurbishment and replacement (partially discretionary). The Company also operates six centralized shipping locations (CSLs) that redistribute products the Company purchases in bulk quantities to its sales centers or in some cases, directly to customers. Its CSLs are regional locations that carry a range of traditional swimming pool, irrigation and related construction products.
