Application Development Platforms

The Progress OpenEdge platform, with more than 60,000 customers worldwide, is a platform for the development and deployment of business applications. OpenEdge-based applications can be deployed and managed over a number of computer platforms. OpenEdge comprises development tools, application servers, application management tools, an embedded database and the ability to connect and integrate with other applications and data sources. The primary products included in this product set are OpenEdge Studio, OpenEdge RDBMS, OpenEdge Application Server, OpenEdge DataServers, OpenEdge Management and OpenEdge Replication. Progress Apama is a platform for building trading applications. The Apama platform offers complex event processing (CEP) capabilities and market connectivity. Progress DataDirect Connect products provide data connectivity components that use interfaces to connect applications running on various platforms to any database. The Progress DataDirect Shadow product is a multi-threaded, native runtime architecture and consolidated development environment providing real-time foundation architecture for mainframe integration. The Shadow product supports Web services for SOA, real-time events for event-driven architecture and transactional support and automatic presentation layer generation for extending screen-based applications to the Web. Progress Data Services product set provides data integration for distributed applications, delivering real-time transactional views of shared data in the form that applications need.
