Straits Resources Limited (Straits) is engaged in the production and sale of, copper and gold and the exploration for copper and gold. The Company operates in two segments: base metals and precious metals. The base metals segment consists of the Tritton copper mine. The precious metals segment consists of the Mt Muro gold and silver mine operated by PT Indo Muro Kencana in Indonesia. Straits has two operating mines: the Tritton copper mine in New South Wales and the Mt Muro gold mine in Indonesia. During the fiscal year ended June 30, 2012, Tritton copper mine produced 23,962 tons of copper. The Temora and Gidgingbung tenements contain a range of projects targeting gold and copper-gold mineralization. Torrens Project is located near the eastern margin of South Australia’s Gawler Craton region, within 50 kilometers of Oz Minerals Carrapateena copper-gold discovery.
