Triumph Group, Inc. (Triumph), incorporated on March 11, 1993, designs, engineers, manufactures, repairs, overhauls and distributes a portfolio of aerostructures, aircraft components, accessories, subassemblies and systems. The Company serves a range of the aviation industry, including original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), of commercial, regional, business and military aircraft and aircraft components, as well as commercial and regional airlines and air cargo carriers. The Company offers a range of products and services to the aerospace industry through three groups of operating segments: Triumph Aerostructures Group, whose companies' revenues are derived from the design, manufacture, assembly and integration of metallic and composite aerostructures and structural components for the global aerospace OEM, market; Triumph Aerospace Systems Group, whose companies design, engineer and manufacture a range of build-to-print components, assemblies and systems also for the OEM market, and Triumph Aftermarket Services Group, whose companies serve aircraft fleets, such as commercial airlines, the United States military and cargo carriers, through the maintenance, repair and overhaul of aircraft components and accessories manufactured by third parties. In December 2012, the Company acquired Embee Incorporated. In March 2013, United Technologies Corp completed the sale of the former Goodrich Corporation pump and engine control systems business to Triumph Group, Inc. In May 2013, the Company announced the acquisition of Primus Composites from Precision Castparts Corp. In October 2013, General Donlee Canada Inc announced that a wholly owned subsidiary of Triumph Group, Inc. acquired General Donlee Canada Inc.
The Company’s Aerostructures Group utilizes its capabilities to design, manufacture and build metallic and composite aerostructures and structural components. This group also includes companies performing complex manufacturing, machining and forming processes for a range of structural components, as well as complete assemblies and subassemblies. This group services a range of aerospace customers, which include aerospace OEMs and the top-tier manufacturers who supply them and airlines, air cargo carriers, and domestic and foreign militaries. The products, which companies within this group design, manufacture, build and repair includes acoustic and thermal insulation systems, aircraft wings, composite and metal bonding, composite ducts and floor panels, empennages, engine nacelles, flight control surfaces, floor beams, fuselage sections, helicopter cabins, stretch-formed edges and fuselage skins, windows and window assemblies, and wing spars and stringers.
Aerospace Systems Group
The Company’s Aerospace Systems Group utilizes its capabilities to design and engineer mechanical, electromechanical, hydraulic and hydromechanical control systems. Customers return such systems to it for repairs and overhauls and spare parts. This group services a range of aerospace customers, which include aerospace OEMs and the manufacturers who supply them and airlines, air cargo carriers, and domestic and foreign militaries. The products which companies within this group design, engineer, build and repair include aircraft and engine mounted accessory drives, cargo hooks, cockpit control levers, control system valve bodies, exhaust nozzles and ducting, geared transmissions, heat exchangers, high lift actuation, hydraulic systems and components, landing gear actuation systems, landing gear components and assemblies, main engine gear box assemblies, secondary flight control systems, and vibration absorbers.
Aftermarket Services Group
The Company’s Aftermarket Services Group performs maintenance, repair and overhaul services (MRO) and supplies spare parts of various types of cockpit instruments, and gauges for the commercial and military aviation industry and services airline and air cargo carrier customers. This group also designs, engineers, manufactures, repairs and overhauls aftermarket aerospace gas turbines engine components, offers comprehensive MRO solutions, leasing packages, exchange programs and parts and services to airline, air cargo and third-party overhaul facilities. It also develops Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), approved designated engineering representative (DER), repair procedures for the components it repairs and overhaul, which range from detailed components to complex subsystems. Its specialties include navigation, flight, and engine monitoring instruments, as well as autopilots, voice and data recorders, smoke detection systems and aircraft lighting. Companies in its Aftermarket Services Group repair and overhaul various components for the aviation industry, including air cycle machines; auxiliary power units (apus), cockpit instrumentation; constant speed drives; engine and airframe accessories; flight control surfaces; integrated drive generators; nacelles; remote sensors; thrust reversers; blades and vanes; cabin interior panes, shades, light lenses and other plastic components; combustors; stators; transition ducts; sidewalls; light assemblies, and overhead bins.
