EPISTAR Corporation is principally engaged in the development, manufacture and distribution of light emitting diode (LED) wafers and chips, mainly applied to outdoor display appliances, automobile lights, consumer electronics, communication products, information products, industrial/apparatus indicator lights and thin film transistor liquid crystal display (TFT-LCD) monitors. The Company's main products include aluminium gallium indium phosphide (AlGalnP) Epi wafers and chips, indium gallium nitride (InGaN) Epi wafers and chips, gallium arsenide phosphide (GaAsP) chips, aluminum gallium arsenide (AlGaAs) wafers and chips, silicon (Si) photo diodes and Si photo transistors. The Company distributes its products in the domestic market and to overseas markets, including the rest of Asia. During the year ended December 31, 2008, the Company obtained 96.86% of its total revenue from LED chips.
