R-TECH UENO, LTD. is a Japan-based pharmaceutical company engaged in the development, manufacture and sales promotion of pharmaceutical products for the ophthalmological and dermatological diseases. The Company operates in three business segments. The Production and Sales segment is mainly engaged in the production and sale of Rescula Eye Drops for glaucoma and ocular hypertension, as well as AMITIZA capsules for chronic idiopathic constipation. The Research and Development segment is mainly engaged in the research and development of pharmaceutical products used to treat diabetic retinopathy, retinitis pigmentosa, age-related macular degeneration, dry eye and other diseases. The Research and Development Support Services segment is engaged in the planning of the nonclinical studies, the practicing of nonclinical studies using the Company’s own facilities, the production and supply of experimental medicines, as well as the acquisition of data for new drug application, among others.
