Shanghai Datun Energy Resources Co. Ltd. is principally engaged in the mining, washing, dressing, processing and sale of coal, the provision of railway transportation services and thermal power generation, as well as the manufacture and sale of aluminum ingots. Its major products are classified into three categories: raw coal, washed coal and electrolytic aluminum. During the year ended December 31, 2008, the Company approximately produced 7.8 million tons of raw coal, 2.24 million tons of washed coal and 100,000 tons of electrolytic aluminum and generated total electricity of 2.35 billion kilowatt hours (KWH). The Company distributes its coal products mainly in Jiangsu Province, Shanghai and Zhejiang Province. As of December 31, 2008, the Company had two major subsidiaries.
