China Railway Erju Co., Ltd. is principally engaged in the contracting of industrial, transportation and civil construction projects. The Company is also involved in the development of real estate, the sale of materials and the leasing of machines. The Company mainly conducts earth and stone projects, bridge projects, road projects, municipal projects, rail transit projects, civil construction projects, electricity projects, framework projects, airport projects, hydroelectricity projects and environment projects, among others. During the year ended December 31, 2008, the Company undertook a total of 286 construction-engineering projects, including 14 railway projects and 272 other projects. The Company operates its businesses in domestic markets with southwest China as its major market.
