(Hitachi) is engaged in developing a diversified product mix ranging from electricity generation systems to consumer products and electronic devices. it operates in seven segments: Information & Telecommunication Systems, Electronic Devices, Power & Industrial Systems, Digital Media & Consumer Products, High Functional Materials & Components, Logistics, Services & Others, and financial services. As of March 11, 2009, Hitachi Kokusai Electronic Inc.’s (Hitachi Kokusai Electric) ownership increased from 38.8% to 51.6%. Accordingly, the Company obtained control over Hitachi Kokusai Electric and it became a consolidated subsidiary of the Company. The Automotive Systems of the Company was separated to form Hitachi Automotive Systems, Ltd. on July 1, 2009. The Consumer Business Group of the Company was separated to form Hitachi Consumer Electronics Co., Ltd. on July 1, 2009. In April 2008, Hitachi acquired a majority ownership interest in M-Tech Information Technology, Inc.
