TOSHIBA CORPORATION is a Japan-based manufacturer that operates in five business segments. The Digital Products segment offers cellular phones, hard disc devices, optical disc devices, liquid crystal televisions, camera systems, digital versatile disc (DVD) players and recorders, personal computers (PCs) and business phones, among others. The Electronic Device segment provides general logic integrated circuits (ICs), optical semiconductors, power devices, large-scale integrated (LSI) circuits for image information systems and liquid crystal displays. The Social Infrastructure segment offers various generators, power distribution systems, water and sewer systems, transportation systems and station automation systems, among others. The Home Appliance segment offers refrigerators, drying machines, washing machines, cooking utensils, cleaners and lighting equipment. Effective October 1, 2009, the Company completed the acquisition of hard disk businesses from FUJITSU LIMITED.
