Arctic Cat Inc. (Arctic Cat), incorporated on October 29, 1982, designs, engineers, manufactures and markets snowmobiles and all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) and recreational off-highway vehicles (side-by-sides or ROVs), as well as related parts, garments and accessories (PG&A). The Company offers its products under the Arctic Cat and MotorFist brand names. The Company operates through two segments: snowmobile and ATV/ROV, and PG&A. The Company markets its products through a network of independent dealers located throughout the United States, Canada and Europe, and through distributors representing dealers in Europe, Russia, South America, the Middle East, China, Asia and other international markets.
Snowmobiles and ATV/ROV
The Company produces a line of snowmobiles, consisting of approximately 60 models, marketed under the Arctic Cat brand name. Its snowmobiles are categorized as Trail, Crossover, Mountain, Touring and Utility models. The Company markets Trail models under the names ZR and Lyn; Crossover models under the name XF; Mountain models under the name M; Touring models under the names Pantera and Lynx, and Utility models under the name Bearcat. It also offers a youth snowmobile under the ZR 120 name. Arctic Cat snowmobiles are sold in various markets, including the United States, Canada, Scandinavia, Russia and other international markets.
The Company's ATVs line includes approximately 30 models. Its ATVs include features, such as independent front and rear suspensions, hydraulic disc brakes, hi-low range transmission, Speed Point accessory system, automatic transmissions, locking differentials, a large fuel tank, and electronic power steering. The Company also has special two rider models that provide an alternative for customers that want to ride double on an ATV. Its ATVs are sold in markets, including the United States, Canada, Europe, Russia, Australia, China, the Middle East and Latin America. Its ROVs include Prowler utility side-by-side vehicle, which is configured with a range of different engines, and includes a rear cargo box and dual bucket seats.
The Company's heavy duty utility side-by-side vehicle, the Prowler HDX, has an extended chassis, extra-large cargo box, bench seating and electronic power steering standard. The Company also offers Wildcat 1000 sport model ROV. Its Wildcat line-up includes a Wildcat 1000 Limited with factory installed accessories; a Wildcat 4 1000, which allows for seating of over four full sized adults, and a Wildcat X 1000, which increases the horse power to over 90. Its Wildcat line-up includes Wildcat X 1000 Limited, Wildcat 4X 1000 and Wildcat 4X 1000 Limited, all with the high horsepower X engine. The Company also offers a narrower 50-inch wide, trail-legal platform, which allows riders access to authorized ATV trails. The Company's HDX utility line-up includes Prowler HDX 500. The Company offers a total of approximately 16 models under ROVs.
Parts, Garments and Accessories
The Company provides Arctic Cat Snowmobile, ATV and ROV parts, garments and accessories. The Company also sells an array of accessories, such as bumpers, cabs, luggage racks, lights, snow plows, backrests, windshields, wheels, track systems and winch kits. In addition to Arctic Cat parts and accessories, the Company sells brands in various categories, such as Fox Float shocks, Speed point attachments and Airbags.
The Company offers a range of snowmobile garments for adults and children under the Arcticwear brand. It produces and sells jackets, coats, pants and casual sportswear items in a range of styles and sizes. The Arcticwear line of clothing encompasses wearables designed to keep the rider warm and dry, including insulated outerwear, hats, mittens, helmets, boots, sweatshirts, T-shirts and casual wear. The snowmobile garment line includes multiple options with varying levels of performance (insulation warmth, waterproofing and breathability) to answer consumers' needs across a range of weather conditions. The Company, through MotorFist, LLC, designs, develops and distributes technical snowmobile riding garments and accessories. For ATV and ROV riders, the Company manufactures and sells garments under the Arcticwear ATV Gear label. This line of clothing includes suits, jackets, gloves, helmets, gear bags, sweatshirts, T-shirts and hats.
The Company competes with Yamaha, BRP Inc., Polaris, Honda Motor Co., Ltd., Kawasaki Motors Corp., Suzuki Motor Corporation, Kubota and Deere & Company.
