AllDigital Holdings, Inc. (AllDigital Holdings), incorporated in August 2006, provides the software tools and back-end services for providers of Digital Services. The Company provides the software data management tools, back-end services and professional services required to facilitates and manages the Pairing of Digital Services to Devices. The Company's solution Media i/o platform enables the cloud-based storage, processing and transit of Digital Services to a Device. The Company has developed a pilot version of, and is in the process of developing the production version of, its Media i/o software platform and related applications to manage customer Digital Services and related data files, media libraries, and other digital assets in third party data center(s). On July 29, 2011, AllDigital Inc. merged with and into a subsidiary of AllDigital Holdings and became a wholly owned subsidiary of AllDigital Holdings.
The Company's software platform is designed to control and integrate the hardware, software and transit services required to Pair a Digital Service to a Device. In addition, the Company's customers can also purchase the individual Digital-Service-to-Device elements that Media i/o supports, such as Media i/o Cloud-Storage, Media i/o Cloud-Processing and Media i/o Origin Transit Services.
Media i/o Platform
The core of AllDigital Holdings's solution is its Media i/o platform. The Company's Media i/o platform offers a Quality of Service manager that provides monitoring of remote Digital Services with feedback to its technical support, as well as the customer’s support team.
Media i/o Cloud-Storage
The Company's Media i/o Cloud-Storage platform is a platform where data is stored on multiple servers (located in one or more data centers) shared by more than one customer. Its customers buy or lease storage capacity from AllDigital and use it for their storage needs related to exchanging data from a Digital Service to a Device. Media i/o, operating in the background as a back-end service, allocates resources according to the requirements of the Digital Service and presents them as storage volumes where files or data objects are stored. Media i/o Cloud Storage may be accessed through a Web service application programming interface (API), or through a Web-based user interface.
Media i/o Cloud Computing
Cloud computing is Internet-based computing, whereby shared resources, software and data are provided to computers and other Devices on demand. In order to provide services, such as transcoding of digital media (such as convert a master file into a format compatible for a specific Device), the Company provides cloud-computing assets on the same network as its cloud-storage platform.
Media i/o Origin Transit
Customers (or Devices) can send a single transit of data (such as a large file) to the Company's storage platform. The Company refers to that transit as the ingress of data. Once the data is stored or prepared for targeted or widespread delivery over the Internet to one or more content delivery networks (CDNs), Internet service providers (ISPs), or other transport models, the Company egress (or send) the data to these upstream partners. It provides a virtual staging area for data that is being exchanged between a Digital Service and Device. That data is then exchanged with the Company's customer’s ISP or CDN.
The Company provides on-boarding services. Its on-boarding services include technical consulting, custom App and/or Digital Service development, App and/or Digital Service integration with partner Digital Services, and the provisioning and configuration of the tools and services required to prepare a Digital Service for launch and distribution to one or more Devices.
The Company competes with AT&T, Quest, Verizon, Akamai, Level 3 Communications, Limelight Networks, Brightcove, Kaltura, Ooyala, 3Par, Amazon, IBM, PWC, EDS and Accenture.
