Aberdeen Asset Management Plc is an independent asset management company engaged in the provision of asset management services. It is engaged in the management of financial assets, chiefly equities, fixed income and property, for third parties. It operates in two business segments: investment management, and property asset management. In May 2009, the Company completed the first closing of its acquisition of certain fund management assets and businesses of Credit Suisse. The first closing is with respect to the businesses in Asia Pacific (excluding Japan). In July 2009, it completed the final closing of its acquisition of certain fund management assets and businesses of Credit Suisse. In October 2009, the Company announced the consolidation of its German equities, fixed income and property businesses into one single unit.
