American Eagle Outfitters, Inc. is a retailer that operates under the American Eagle Outfitters, aerie by American Eagle (aerie), 77kids by american eagle (77kids) and MARTIN + OSA brands. The Company designs, markets and sells its own brand of clothing, accessories and personal care products targeting 15 to 25 year-old customers. American Eagle also operates ae.com, which offers additional sizes, colors and styles of AE merchandise and ships to 62 countries worldwide. The American Eagle Outfitters original collection includes standards like jeans and graphic Ts, as well as essentials like accessories, outerwear, footwear, basics and swimwear under the American Eagle Outfitters, American Eagle and AE brand names. As of January 31, 2009, the Company operated 1,098 stores in the United States and Canada under the American Eagle Outfitters, aerie and MARTIN + OSA brands. In October 2008, the Company launched a new children’s apparel brand 77kids. As of January 31, 2009, it operated 954 American Eagle Outfitters stores in the United States and Canada, 116 aerie stand-alone stores and 28 MARTIN + OSA stores.

The aerie collection is available in aerie stores, predominantly all American Eagle stores and at aerie.com. The collection offers Dormwear and intimates collections for the AE girl. The aerie collection is offered in 116 stand-alone stores, predominantly all American Eagle stores and on aerie.com. aerie also offers its customers a loyalty program, the aerie a-list. aerie rewards its a-list members with a free special gift on any Thursday of their choosing, once a month.

AEO Direct

American Eagle Outfitters, Inc. sells merchandise via its e-commerce operations, ae.com and aerie.com, which are extensions of the lifestyle that it conveys in the stores. During the fiscal year ended January 31, 2009 (fiscal 2008), the Company expanded AEO Direct through the addition of e-commerce operations for martinandosa.com and 77kids.com. During fiscal 2008, it added 21 countries to its shipping destinations and ships to 62 countries. In addition to purchasing items online, customers can experience AEO Direct in-store. The Company has implemented a new program called Store-to-Door, which enables store associates to sell any item available online to an in-store customer in a single transaction, without placing a phone call. During fiscal 2008, the Company began accepting PayPal as a means of payment from its ae.com, aerie.com and 77kids.com customers.

MARTIN + OSA

American Eagle Outfitters, Inc. launched MARTIN + OSA, a concept targeting 28 to 40 year-old women and men. MARTIN + OSA offers Refined Casual clothing and accessories. During fiscal 2008, it opened 10 MARTIN + OSA stores. In fiscal 2008, MARTIN + OSA began offering merchandise online at martinandosa.com.

77kids by american eagle

The 77kids brand offers durable clothing and accessories for kids ages 2 to 10. The brand debuted worldwide online at 77kids.com during fiscal 2008.
