AGCO Corporation, incorporated on April 22, 1991, is a manufacturer and distributor of agricultural equipment and related replacement parts around the world. The Company's products include tractors, combines, application equipment, hay tools and forage equipment, implements and other equipment, grain storage and protein production systems, and replacement parts. The Company's AGCO Power engines division produces diesel engines, gears and generating sets. It also offers various precision farming technologies installed in its products, which include satellite-based steering, field data collection, yield mapping and telemetry-based fleet management systems.
The Company's high horsepower tractors are used on large farms, primarily for row crop production. Its utility tractors used on small and medium-sized farms and in specialty agricultural industries, including dairy, livestock, orchards and vineyards. Compact tractors are used on small farms and specialty agricultural industries, as well as for landscaping and residential uses.
Combines are sold with various threshing technologies and complemented by various crop-harvesting heads. Combines are used in harvesting grain crops, such as corn, wheat, soybeans and rice.
Application Equipment includes self-propelled, three-and four-wheeled vehicles and related equipment for use in the application of liquid and dry fertilizers and crop protection chemicals. It also includes chemical sprayer equipment for use both prior to planting crops (pre-emergence) and after crops emerge from the ground (post-emergence).
Hay Tools and Forage Equipment, Implements and Other Equipment
The Company's hay tools and forage equipment include round and rectangular balers, self-propelled windrowers, disc mowers, spreaders, rakes, tedders and mower conditioners, which are used for the harvesting and packaging of vegetative feeds used in the beef cattle, dairy, horse and renewable fuel industries. Implements include disc harrows, which cut through crop residue; leveling seed beds and mixing chemicals with the soils; heavy tillage, which break up soil and mix crop residue into topsoil, with or without prior discing; field cultivators, which prepare a smooth seed bed and destroy weeds, and drills, which are primarily used for small grain seeding. Planters are used to apply fertilizer and plant seeds in the field for row crop seeding. Other equipment includes loaders, which are used for various tasks, including lifting and transporting hay crops.
Grain Storage and Protein Production Systems
Grain Storage and Protein Production Systems consist of grain storage bins and related drying and handling equipment systems. It also consists of swine and poultry feed storage and delivery, ventilation and watering systems.
The Company sells replacement parts for all of the products it sells. Its parts inventories are maintained and distributed through a network of master and regional warehouses in all of the regions it operates.
