Air Methods Corporation, incorporated on April 10, 1987, is engaged in providing air medical emergency transport services and systems throughout the United States. The Company's segments include Air Medical Services (AMS), Tourism and United Rotorcraft (UR) Division. The Company's Air Medical Services Division provides air medical transportation services in approximately 40 states to the general population as an independent service (also called community-based services) and to hospitals or other institutions under exclusive operating agreements (also called hospital-based services). It transports persons requiring intensive medical care from either the scene of an accident or general care hospitals to skilled trauma centers or tertiary care centers.

Air Medical Services Division

The Company's Air Medical Services Division offers services, which include medical care, aircraft operation and maintenance, around the clock communications and dispatch, and medical billing and collections. Aircraft are based at fire stations, airports or hospital locations. The Air Medical Services Division operates approximately 370 helicopters and over 30 fixed wing aircrafts under both Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) and Visual Flight Rules (VFR). Its aircraft are dispatched in response to requests for transport received by its communications centers from sending or receiving hospitals or local emergency personnel, such as firemen or police officers, at the scene of an accident. Communications and dispatch operations for its community-based locations and some of its hospital-based locations are conducted from its national center in Omaha, Nebraska. Medical billing and collections are processed primarily from its offices in San Bernardino, California. The Company also has contracts to provide dispatch, medical billing, and patient transfer center services to outside third parties.

Tourism Division

The Company's Tourism Division operates approximately 70 helicopters and two fixed wing aircrafts. The Tourism Division provides aerial tours and charter flights, primarily focusing on Grand Canyon and Hawaiian Island tours. The Tourism Division consists of Sundance Helicopters, Inc., (Sundance) and Blue Hawaiian Helicopters (BHH). The Company markets its tours through company Websites and a range of agencies, such as online booking companies, hotels, resorts, and cruise operators. The division has flyover rights to conduct aerial tours over the Grand Canyon National Park and over two national parks in Hawaii, along with some smaller national parks. The Company conducts operations under the trade name of Sundance Helicopters in the Las Vegas and Grand Canyon markets and under Blue Hawaiian Helicopters in the Hawaiian market.

United Rotorcraft Division

The Company's United Rotorcraft Division designs, manufactures and certifies modular medical interiors, multi-mission interiors, and other aerospace and medical transport products. These interiors and other products range from basic life support to intensive care suites to advanced search and rescue systems. The division offers integrated aircraft communication, navigation, environmental control, structural, and electrical systems. The Company's manufacturing services include avionics, electrical, composites, machining, welding, sheet metal and upholstery.
