Alpha Bank A.E., incorporated on April 1, 1905, is a banking and financial services company. The Bank, through its subsidiaries, offers a range of services, including corporate and retail banking, financial services, investment banking and brokerage services, insurance services, real estate management and hotel activities. The Bank operates through six business segments: Retail Banking, Corporate Banking, Asset Management and Insurance, Investment Banking and Treasury, South Eastern Europe and Other.
The Retail Banking segment includes all individuals (retail banking customers), professionals, and companies operating in Greece and abroad except from South-Eastern Europe countries. The Bank, through its branch network, offers a range of deposit products, such as deposits and savings accounts, working capital and current accounts, investment facilities and term deposits, repos and swaps; loan facilities, such as mortgages, consumer, corporate loans and letters of guarantee, and debit and credit cards. The Corporate Banking segment includes medium-sized and large companies, with international activities, corporations managed by the Corporate Banking Division and shipping corporations operating. The Bank offers working capital facilities, corporate loans and letters of guarantee. The segment also includes leasing products, which are offered through Alpha Leasing A.E., and factoring services offered through the subsidiary company, ABC Factors A.E.
The Asset Management and Insurance segment consists of a range of asset management services offered through the Bank's private banking units and its subsidiary, Alpha Asset Management A.E.D.A.K. In addition, it provides a range of insurance products to individuals and companies. It sells insurance products to individuals and companies through either AXA insurance, which is the corporate successor of the subsidiary, Alpha Insurance A.E. or the subsidiary Alphalife A.A.E.Z. The Investment Banking and Treasury segment includes stock exchange, advisory and brokerage services relating to capital markets, and investment banking facilities, offered either by the Bank or by its subsidiaries, Alpha Finance A.E.P.E.Y. and Alpha Ventures A.E. It also includes the activities of the Dealing Room in the interbank market (fixed income (FX) swaps, bonds, futures, internal revenue service (IRS) and interbank placements loans). The South-Eastern Europe segment consists of its branches operating in South Eastern Europe. The Other segment consists of the non-financial subsidiaries of the Bank.
