Atna Resources Ltd (Atna) is engaged in exploring, acquiring, developing, and mining precious metals, uranium and other mineral properties. The Company is involved in all phases of the mining business from exploration, development drilling, feasibility studies, permitting, construction, operation and final closure of mining properties. Atna’s exploration and development efforts are focused primarily on precious metals in the western United States. The Company conducts a portion of its mineral exploration and development activities through joint ventures with other companies. During the year ended December 31, 2011, production at Briggs included the mining of 2.6 million tons of gold ore containing 43,500 ounces of gold. In September 2011, the Company acquired the remaining 70% of Pinson gold mining property (Pinson).
