ATRM Holdings, Inc., formerly Aetrium Incorporated, incorporated on December 29, 1982, designs, manufactures and markets a range of electromechanical equipment used by the semiconductor industry to handle and test integrated circuits (ICs). The Company’s products are sold to semiconductor manufacturers and their assembly and test subcontractors located in the United States and in foreign locations. The Company’s line of gravity feed test handler products incorporates thermal conditioning, contacting and automated handling technologies to provide automated handling of ICs during production test cycles. The Company’s also offer change kits to adapt its test handlers to different IC package configurations or to upgrade installed equipment for enhanced performance.

Test Handler Products

Test handlers are electromechanical systems interfaced with a tester to form a test system designed to handle, thermally condition, contact and sort ICs automatically during the final test stage of the manufacturing process. ICs are loaded into the test handler from bowls, tubes, trays or strips and then, if required, transported to a temperature chamber within the test handler where they are thermally conditioned to the required testing temperature. The ICs are then inserted into or otherwise connected to a contractor, which provides an electrical connection between the IC and the tester. After testing, the test handler may sort the ICs according to test results as provided by the tester.

Gravity Feed Test Handlers

The Company’s gravity feed test handlers adapt to third party contactors, as well as its internally developed contactors, providing solutions to a range of customer test requirements. The Company’s gravity feed test handlers can heat or cool the ICs being tested to test temperatures ranging from -55 degrees Celsius to 155 degrees Celsius. They use its mechanical refrigeration system to cool ICs, which is used as a refrigerant in competing handlers. The VMAX Series focuses on analog and logic IC applications and addresses a range of IC packages, including small outline packages (SOPs) and micro leadframe package (MLPs). The VMAX Series offers a small footprint and a vertical backplane that can accommodate nearly any size of test head. The Company offers the VMAX Series in two, four and eight test site configurations.

The Company’s 55 volt (V) Series is its other principal line of gravity feed test handlers. The 55V Series focuses on the same IC applications, addresses the same wide range of IC packages, and offers the same small footprint, vertical backplane and high speed test site actuator as its VMAX Series. The Company offers the 55V Series in one, two, four and eight test site configurations.

Change Kits and Spare Parts

Change kits consist of the parts necessary to reconfigure a test handler for another type or size of device package. The Company sells a variety of change kits to accommodate the growing variety of device packages used in the semiconductor industry.

The Company competes with Multitest Electronic Systems GmbH, Rasco and Yokogawa.
