Search and Content segment
The InfoSpace business offers search services that involve the generation and display of a set of hyperlinks to Websites deemed relevant to search queries entered by users from desktop and laptop computers. In addition to these algorithmic search results, paid listings are also displayed in response to search queries. Search and content services provided through its owned and operated properties include services through Websites, such as Dogpile.com, WebCrawler.com, HowStuffWorks.com and third-party Web pages that the Company operates. The Company's Search and Content revenue consists of advertising revenue generated through end-users clicking on paid listings included in the search results display, as well as from advertisements appearing on its HowStuffWorks.com Website.
Tax Preparation segment
TaxACT generates revenue through its online tax preparation service at www.taxact.com. In addition, revenue is generated from the sale of ancillary services, which include tax preparation support services, data archive services, bank services, including reloadable pre-paid debit card services, and additional e-filing services.
Monoprice offers its products for sale through the www.monoprice.com Website and fulfills those orders from its warehouse in Rancho Cucamonga, California. It also sells its products through reseller and marketplace agreements. As of December 31, 2014, the Monoprice Website showcased 14 product categories and 6,900 individual products.
The Company competes with Google, Yahoo!, Bing, Intuit, H&R Block, Liberty and Jackson Hewit.
