Biocon Limited (Biocon) is engaged in manufacturing of biotechnology products in the pharmaceutical sector. It is also engaged in the formulation business. The Company is also engaged in providing contract research services to overseas customers in the field of synthetic chemistry and molecular biology, sale of products arising from research activities and undertakes clinical research activities on discovering biomarkers. Effective April 30, 2008, Biocon acquired 71 % equity interest in AxiCorp GmbH, Germany through its wholly owned subsidiary company Biocon SA, Switzerland.
