The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation (BNY Mellon), incorporated on February 9, 2007, is an investments company. The Company operates businesses through two segments: Investment Management and Investment Services. The Company also has an Other segment, which includes credit-related services; the leasing portfolio; corporate treasury activities, including its investment securities portfolio; its equity interest in ConvergEx Group; business exits, and corporate overhead. The Company has over $1.6 trillion in assets under management.
BNY Mellon's subsidiaries include The Bank of New York Mellon and BNY Mellon, National Association (BNY Mellon, N.A.). The Bank of New York Mellon is a New York state-chartered bank, which houses its Investment Services businesses, including Asset Servicing, Issuer Services, Treasury Services, Broker-Dealer and Advisor Services, as well as the bank-advised business of Asset Management. BNY Mellon, N.A. is a national bank, which houses the Company's Wealth Management business. The Company's principal banking subsidiaries engage in trust and custody activities, investment management services, banking services and various securities-related activities. It has over four other United States bank and/or trust company subsidiaries focusing on trust products and services across the United States: The Bank of New York Mellon Trust Company, National Association, BNY Mellon Trust of Delaware, BNY Mellon Investment Servicing Trust Company and BNY Mellon Trust Company of Illinois. Most of its asset management businesses, along with the Company's Pershing businesses, are direct or indirect non-bank subsidiaries of BNY Mellon.
The Company offers a range of services, including alternative investment services, asset servicing, collateral management and segregation, corporate trust, depository receipts, investment management, liquidity services, pershing clearing services, securities finance, treasury services and wealth management, among others. The Company offers a range of alternative investment services, including alternative prime custody services, fund of hedge funds services, hedge fund services, liquid alternatives and private equity fund services; asset servicing, such as advertising review solutions, benefit disbursements, blue sky filing services, consultant insight program, custody and accounting, document solutions, exchange traded fund (ETF) services, fund services, fund startup, global risk solutions, information delivery, insurance services, liquid alternatives, outsourcing services, technology solutions and transfer agency services, and collateral management and segregation, including collateral administration, collateral management and collateral segregation.
The Company offers corporate trust services, such as asset and portfolio administration, conventional debt, custody and safekeeping, data analytics and information management, loan administration, middle and back office support, program solutions for the government, public finance solutions, specialized services and structured finance; depositary receipts, including Depositary Receipts Services; FOREIGN EXCHANGE (FX) services, such as currency administration, custody FX programs, FX payments, FX sales and trading services, and markets commentary. It offers investment management services, such as investment strategies and vehicles; liquidity services, including liquidity services; pershing clearing services, which includes broker-dealer solutions, enterprise data management and technology services, investment and trading solutions, practice management, prime brokerage solutions and registered investment advisor services, and securities finance services, such as agency securities lending and secured loans.
The Company offers a range of treasury services, including client access, depository services, electronic services, global transaction banking, industry solutions, investment sweep, payables management, payment execution, receivables, solutions for global financial institutions, and trade finance and processing. Its range of wealth management services include family office services, investment management, investment servicing and information management, and wealth and estate planning. BNY Mellon's customers include asset managers, banks, broker-dealers, central banks, corporations, financial intermediaries, governments, high-net-worth individuals, insurance companies, non-profit organizations, pensions and sovereign institutions.
