Personal and Commercial Banking
Personal and Commercial Banking consists of two segments: Canadian Personal and Commercial Banking (Canadian P&C), and U.S. Personal and Commercial Banking (U.S. P&C). Personal Banking provides financial solutions for everyday banking, financing, investing, credit card and creditor insurance needs. Personal Banking provides customers with a range of products and services, including checking and savings accounts, credit cards, mortgages, creditor insurance, and everyday financial and investment advice. Commercial Banking provides small business and commercial banking customers with a range of commercial products and services, including business deposit accounts, commercial credit cards, business loans and commercial mortgages, cash management solutions, foreign exchange and specialized banking programs. The Canadian P&C segment provides a range of financial products and services to approximately eight million customers. It operates its business through various channels, such as its branches, mobile devices, online, over the telephone and through its automated banking machines (ABMs). The U.S. P&C segment offers a range of products and services. Its retail and small and mid-sized business banking customers are served through its branches, contact centers, online and mobile banking platforms, and ABMs in over eight states.
BMO's group of wealth management businesses serve a range of client segments from mainstream to high net worth and institutional, with an offering of wealth management products and services, including insurance products. Wealth Management (WM) has presence in markets across Canada, the United States, Europe and Asia. Its lines of business include BMO Nesbitt Burns, BMO InvestorLine, BMO's Private Banking, BMO Global Asset Management and BMO Insurance. BMO Nesbitt Burns, the Bank's investing business in Canada, offers investment and wealth advisory services leveraging financial planning capabilities. BMO InvestorLine is an online investing service that offers clients two ways to invest: clients can choose its service, which provides tools to make independent investment decisions, and adviceDirect, which provides investors with online advice and investment recommendations for their portfolios. BMO's Private Banking businesses operate in Canada, the United States, Hong Kong and Singapore, offering a range of financial services and solutions to clients and, under BMO Harris Financial Advisors, to clients in the United States. BMO Global Asset Management is a global investment organization that provides investment management, retirement, and trust and custody services to institutional, retail and net worth investors around the world. BMO Insurance operates in Canada and internationally. BMO Capital Markets
BMO CM is a North America-based financial services provider offering a range of products and services to corporate, institutional and government clients. Through its Investment and Corporate Banking and Trading Products lines of business, the Bank operates in approximately 30 locations around the world, including approximately 20 offices in North America. Investment and Corporate Banking offers debt and equity capital-raising services, as well as loan origination and syndication, balance sheet management solutions and treasury management services. It provides advice on mergers and acquisitions, restructurings and recapitalizations, as well as valuation and fairness opinions. It also offers trade finance and risk mitigation services to support the international business activities of its clients and provides a range of banking and other operating services tailored to North American and international financial institutions. Its Trading Products line of business offers research and access to global markets for institutional, corporate and retail clients through a range of sales and trading solutions that include debt, foreign exchange, interest rate, credit, equity, securitization and commodities. It also offers new product development and origination services, as well as risk management (derivatives) advice and services to hedge against price fluctuations on a range of inputs, including interest rates and commodities. In addition, it provides funding and liquidity management to its clients.
Corporate Services consists of Corporate Units, and Technology and Operations (T&O). Corporate Units provide enterprise-wide governance support in various areas, including strategic planning, risk management, finance, legal and regulatory compliance, marketing, communications and human resources. T&O manages, maintains and provides governance over information technology, operations services, real estate and sourcing for BMO Financial Group.
