BP p.l.c., incorporated on April 14, 1909, is an integrated oil and gas company. The Company provides its customers with fuel for transportation, energy for heat and light, lubricants to keep engines moving and the petrochemicals products used to make everyday items as diverse as paints, clothes and packaging. The Company operates through three segments: Upstream, Downstream and Rosneft. Its Upstream segment is engaged in oil and natural gas exploration, field development and production, as well as midstream transportation, storage and processing. The Company's Downstream segment has global manufacturing and marketing operations. Rosneft is an oil company. The Company has operations in Europe, North and South America, Australasia, Asia and Africa.


The Company's Upstream segment is engaged in marketing and trading of natural gas, including liquefied natural gas (LNG), together with power and natural gas liquids (NGLs). The Company's oil and natural gas production assets are located onshore and offshore and include wells, gathering centers, in-field flow lines, processing facilities, storage facilities, offshore platforms, export systems, pipelines and LNG plant facilities. These include production from conventional and unconventional (coalbed methane and shale) assets. The principal areas of production are Angola, Argentina, Australia, Azerbaijan, Egypt, Iraq, Trinidad, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the United Kingdom and the United States. The Company's LNG supply activities are located in Abu Dhabi, Angola, Australia, Indonesia and Trinidad. In Europe, the Company's production is generated from three areas: the Shetland area comprising Magnus, Clair, Foinaven and Schiehallion fields; the central area comprising Bruce, Andrew and ETAP fields, and Norway, comprising Valhall, Ula and Skarv fields. The Company's upstream activities in North America took place in four main areas: deepwater Gulf of Mexico, the Lower 48 states, Alaska and Canada. The US Lower 48 onshore business has significant activities across over six states producing natural gas, oil, NGLs and condensate.

In South America, the Company has upstream activities in Brazil, and Trinidad and Tobago, as well as in Argentina, Bolivia, and Chile. In Brazil, the Company has interests in over 20 exploration and production concessions across over five basins. In Africa, its upstream activities are located in Angola, Algeria, Libya, Egypt and Morocco. In Angola, the Company is present in over eight deepwater licenses offshore and is operator in over four of these, blocks 18 and 31 that are producing oil and blocks 19 and 24 that are in the exploration phase. The Company also has an equity interest in the Angola LNG plant. The Company has upstream activities in Western Indonesia, China, Azerbaijan, Oman, Abu Dhabi, India, Iraq and Russia. In Western Indonesia, the Company participates in LNG exports through its interest in Virginia Indonesia Company LLC (VICO), the operator of Sanga-Sanga PSA supplying gas to the Bontang LNG plant in Kalimantan. In Australia, the Company is a participant in the North West Shelf (NWS) venture, which has been producing LNG, pipeline gas, condensate, LPG and oil. In Eastern Indonesia, the Company operates the Tangguh LNG plant. The asset comprises approximately 10 producing wells, two offshore platforms, two pipelines and an LNG plant with over two production trains. It has a total capacity of over 7.6 million tons of LNG per annum.


The Company's Downstream segment is engaged in refining, manufacturing, marketing, transportation, and supply and trading of crude oil, petroleum, petrochemicals products and related services to wholesale and retail customers. The Company's Downstream segment includes three businesses: Fuels, which includes refineries, fuels marketing and convenience retail businesses, together with global oil supply and trading activities that make up its fuels value chains (FVCs); Lubricants, which manufactures and markets lubricants and related products and services to automotive, industrial, marine and energy markets across the world, and Petrochemicals, which manufactures, sells and distributes products that are produced mainly using its technology. The Company sells refined petroleum products, including gasoline, diesel and aviation fuel. The Company also licenses its technologies to third parties.

The Company owns approximately 10 refineries producing refined petroleum products that it supplies to retail and commercial customers. It operates an infrastructure and logistics network that includes pipelines, storage terminals and tankers for road and rail. Its brands are Castrol, BP and Aral. The Company manufactures and markets various product lines, such as purified terephthalic acid (PTA), paraxylene (PX), acetic acid, and olefins and derivatives. The Company also produces various other specialty petrochemicals products.


Rosneft has a resource base of hydrocarbons onshore and offshore, with assets in various hydrocarbon regions of Russia: West Siberia, East Siberia, Timan-Pechora, Volga-Urals, North Caucasus, the continental shelf of the Arctic Sea, and the Far East. Rosneft owns and operates approximately 10 refineries in Russia. Rosneft owns and operates approximately 2,500 retail service stations in Russia and abroad. Rosneft participates in international exploration projects or has operations in countries, including the United States, Canada, Vietnam, Venezuela, Brazil, Algeria, the United Arab Emirates, Turkmenistan and Norway. Its Downstream operations also include jet fuel, bunkering, bitumen and lubricants.
