Boyd Gaming Corporation, incorporated on June 8, 1988, is a multi-jurisdictional gaming company. The Company operated 24 wholly owned gaming entertainment properties in Nevada, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana and Mississippi, as of December 31, 2016. It operates through three segments: Las Vegas Locals, Downtown Las Vegas, and Midwest and South. It owns and operates a travel agency and a captive insurance company that underwrites travel-related insurance, each located in Hawaii.
Las Vegas Locals
The Company's Las Vegas Locals segment consisted of nine casinos that primarily served the resident population of the Las Vegas metropolitan area, as of December 31, 2016. It includes properties, such as Gold Coast Hotel and Casino (Gold Coast), The Orleans Hotel and Casino (The Orleans), Sam's Town Hotel and Gambling Hall (Sam's Town Las Vegas), Suncoast Hotel and Casino (Suncoast), Eastside Cannery Casino and Hotel, Aliante Casino + Hotel + Spa (Aliante), Cannery Casino Hotel and Eldorado Casino (Eldorado) and Jokers Wild Casino (Jokers Wild).
Gold Coast was located approximately one mile west of the Las Vegas Strip and one-quarter mile west of Interstate 15, as of December 31, 2016. The primary target market for Gold Coast consists of local middle-market customers gambling. Gold Coast's amenities included 712 hotel rooms and suites along with meeting facilities, multiple restaurant options, a 70-lane bowling center and gaming, including slots, table games, a race and sports book, and a bingo center, as of December 31, 2016.
The Orleans' target markets include local residents and visitors to the Las Vegas area. Amenities at The Orleans included 1,885 hotel rooms, a range of restaurants and bars, a spa and fitness center, 18 stadium-seating movie theaters, a 70-lane bowling center, banquet and meeting space, and a special events arena that seated up to 9,500 patrons, as of December 31, 2016.
Sam's Town Las Vegas was located approximately six miles east of the Las Vegas Strip, and featured a contemporary western theme, as of December 31, 2016. Amenities at Sam's Town Las Vegas included 645 hotel rooms, a range of restaurants and bars, 18 stadium-seating movie theaters and a 56-lane bowling center, as of December 31, 2016.
Suncoast's primary target market consists of local middle-market customers gambling frequently. Suncoast was a Mediterranean-themed facility that featured 427 hotel rooms, multiple restaurant options, 25,000 square feet of banquet and meeting facilities, 16 stadium-seating movie theaters and a 64-lane bowling center, as of December 31, 2016.
Eastside Cannery Casino and Hotel is located south of Sam's Town Las Vegas. Eastside Cannery Casino and Hotel had a 63,879-square-foot casino, 306 hotel rooms, five restaurants and four bars, 20,000 square feet of meeting and ballroom space, and a 250-seat entertainment lounge, as of December 31, 2016.
Aliante's primary target market consists of local high-end customers gambling frequently. Aliante featured a full-service Scottsdale-modern, desert-inspired casino and resort which included 202 hotel rooms, multiple restaurant options, 82,000 square feet of gaming space, 200 seat bingo room, 16-screen movie theater complex, 650 seat showroom, spa and resort style pool with cabanas, as of December 31, 2016.
Cannery Casino Hotel primary target market consists of local, casual working class customers gambling frequently. The Cannery Casino Hotel had an 86,000-square-foot casino, a 199-room hotel, five restaurants and five bars, a 30,000 square foot entertainment venue and a 14-screen movie theater, as of December 31, 2016.
Eldorado was approximately 14 miles from the Las Vegas Strip, as of December 31, 2016. Jokers Wild is located in Henderson. The amenities at each of these properties include a sports book and dining options, as well as gaming, including slots at both properties and table games at Jokers Wild. The principal customers of these properties are Henderson residents.
Downtown Las Vegas
Through its Hawaiian travel agency, Vacations Hawaii, it operated as many as four charter flights from Honolulu to Las Vegas each week, which helped provide air transportation for its customers, as of December 31, 2016. The Downtown Las Vegas segment includes three properties, such as California Hotel and Casino (Cal), Fremont Hotel and Casino (Fremont) and Main Street Station Casino, Brewery and Hotel (Main Street Station).
The Company's Cal's amenities included 781 hotel rooms, multiple dining options, a sports book and meeting space, as of December 31, 2016. The Cal and Main Street Station are connected by an indoor pedestrian bridge. The Company's Fremont properties amenities included 447 hotel rooms, a race and sports book, and meeting space, as of December 31, 2016.
Main Street Station's amenities included 406 hotel rooms and three restaurants, one of which included a brewery, as of December 31, 2016. In addition, Main Street Station featured a 96-space recreational vehicle park, as of December 31, 2016.
Midwest and South Properties
Its Midwest and South properties consisted of three land-based casinos, five dockside riverboat casinos, two racinos and two barge-based casinos that operated in six states in the Midwest and southern United States, as of December 31, 2016. Par-A-Dice was a dockside riverboat casino located on the Illinois River in East Peoria, Illinois that featured a 202-room hotel, as of December 31, 2016. Located adjacent to the Par-A-Dice riverboat was a land-based pavilion, which included three restaurants, a cocktail lounge and a gift shop, as of December 31, 2016.

Diamond Jo Worth was a land-based casino situated on a 36-acre site in Northwood, Iowa, which is located in north-central Iowa, approximately 30 miles north of Mason City, as of December 31, 2016. The casino had 962 slot machines and 32 table games in operation, as well as a 5,200 square foot event center and several dining options, including the Kitchen Buffet, a 190-seat buffet restaurant, and Woodfire Grille, a 114-seat high-end restaurant, as of December 31, 2016.

The Evangeline Downs is a land-based racino located in Louisiana. The racino included a casino with 1,360 slot machines and a 23,000 square foot convention center, as of December 31, 2016. The racino featured multiple food venues, including The Cajun Buffet, a 300-seat buffet; Cafe 24/7, an 89-seat restaurant; The Spotted Horse Tavern and Dining Parlor, a 132-seat restaurant and tavern, and Fast and Lucy's Pub, a 110-seat restaurant and bar, as of December 31, 2016. The racino included a one-mile dirt track, a 7/8-mile turf track and stables for 980 horses, as of December 31, 2016. The Clubhouse, together with the grandstand and patio area, provided seating capacity for up to 4,295 patrons, as of December 31, 2016. In the Clubhouse, Silk's Fine Dining offers a varied menu and the grandstand area contains a concession and bar. Evangeline Downs operated three Off Track Betting (OTB) locations, as of December 31, 2016.
Sam's Town Shreveport is a dockside riverboat casino located along the Red River in Shreveport, Louisiana. Amenities at the property included 514 hotel rooms, a spa, four restaurants, a live entertainment venue, and convention and meeting space, as of December 31, 2016. Feeder markets include east Texas, Texarkana, Arkansas and surrounding Louisiana cities, including Bossier City, Minden, Ruston and Monroe.
Treasure Chest is a dockside riverboat casino located on Lake Pontchartrain in the western suburbs of New Orleans, Louisiana. The property had a capacity for 1,750 people, as of December 31, 2016. The entertainment complex located adjacent to the riverboat housed a 140-seat Caribbean showroom and two restaurants, as of December 31, 2016.
