Coeur Mining, Inc., incorporated on May 15, 2013, is a gold and silver producer. The Company's segments include Palmarejo complex, Rochester, Kensington, Wharf and San Bartolome mines, and Coeur Capital. The Company also has a non-operating interest in the Endeavor mine in Australia in addition to royalties on the El Gallo complex in Mexico, the Zaruma mine in Ecuador, and the Correnso mine in New Zealand. In addition, the Company has two silver-gold feasibility stage projects: the La Preciosa project in Mexico and the Joaquin project in Argentina. The Company also conducts exploration activities in Alaska, Argentina, Bolivia, Mexico, and Nevada. The Company owns strategic investment positions in several silver and gold development companies with projects in North and South America.
The Company's Endeavor mine and associated mill facility is an underground silver and base metal operation located in north-central New South Wales, Australia, approximately 30 miles northwest of the community of Cobar. At Endeavor, silver, lead, zinc and lesser amounts of copper mineralization are contained within sulfide lenses hosted in fine-grained sedimentary rocks of the Paleozoic-aged Amphitheatre Group. Principal ore minerals are galena, sphalerite and chalcopyrite. Silver occurs with both lead- and zinc-rich sulfide zones. The El Gallo complex is operated by McEwen Mining Inc and is located in Mexico's State of Sinaloa, along the foothills of the Sierra Madre Mountains. The Zaruma gold mine is in pre-commercial production, with processing of ore to dore occurring at a processing plant located in Zaruma, Ecuador. The Cerro Bayo underground silver-gold mine is operated by Mandalay Resources Corp. and is located in southern Chile, approximately 80 miles south of Coyhaique. The Correnso underground gold mine is located near the town of Waihi, New Zealand.
The Company's other operations include La Preciosa project, Joaquin project and Martha mine. The Joaquin silver and gold exploration project is located in the Santa Cruz province of southern Argentina. The Martha underground silver and gold mine is located in the Santa Cruz province of southern Argentina, owned by Coeur Argentina S.R.L., a subsidiary of the Company. La Preciosa is an advanced-stage silver and gold exploration project located approximately 50 miles (over 80 kilometers) northeast of the city of Durango in Durango State, Mexico. The La Preciosa property consists of over 10 mining concessions, covering an area of approximately 95,340 acres (over 38,580 hectares), located along the eastern flank of the Sierra Madre Occidental Mountain range.
The Palmarejo complex consists of the Palmarejo mine and mill; the Guadalupe underground mine, located approximately eight kilometers southeast of the Palmarejo mine; the Independencia deposit, located approximately 800 meters northeast of the Guadalupe underground mine, and other deposits and exploration targets. The Palmarejo complex is located in the state of Chihuahua, Mexico. The Palmarejo complex is made up of approximately 80 mining concessions, covering approximately 135,130 acres of land, held as Coeur Mexicana S.A. de C.V., a subsidiary of the Company, approximately 40 mining concessions, approximately 30,351 acres, and Paramount Gold de Mexico, a subsidiary of the Company, over 50 mining concessions, approximately 104,780 acres. The Palmarejo complex is located on the western flank of the Sierra Madre Occidental, a mountain range that comprises the central spine of northern Mexico.
The San Bartolome silver mine and associated milling operation, operated by Empresa Minera Manquiri S.A., a subsidiary of the Company, is located on the flanks of the Cerro Rico Mountain bordering the town of Potosi, in the department of Potosi, Bolivia. The silver production from San Bartolome is approximately 5.4 million ounces.
The Rochester mine and associated heap leach facilities, is an open pit silver and gold mine located in Pershing County, Nevada, approximately 10 miles north of the city of Lovelock. The Company owns the Rochester Mine through Coeur Rochester, Inc., a subsidiary of the Company. The mine consists of the main Rochester deposit and the adjacent Nevada Packard deposit, southwest of Rochester. Rochester mine produces approximately 79.3 million ounces of silver reserves and 477,000 ounces of gold reserves at Rochester.
The Kensington underground gold mine and associated milling facilities are located on the east side of the Lynn Canal over 50 miles north-northwest of Juneau, Alaska. The Company controls the mine through Coeur Alaska, Inc., a subsidiary of the Company. The Kensington underground gold mine has approximately 560,301 ounces of gold reserves.
The Wharf mine is located in the northern Black Hills of western South Dakota, approximately four miles southwest of the city of Lead, South Dakota. The Company has approximately 712,090 ounces of gold reserves at Wharf. Wharf Resources (U.S.A.) Inc., a subsidiary of the Company, operates the Wharf mine.
Coeur Capital, Inc. (Coeur Capital) is a subsidiary of the Company. Coeur Capital holds the Endeavor silver stream and other precious metals royalties, along with a portfolio of strategic equity investments. The Endeavor mine, operated by Cobar Operations Pty. Limited, is an underground zinc, lead, and silver mine.
