Cropenergies AG is a Germany-based producer of bioethanol for the fuel sector, as well as of protein feedstuff. Its main brands are ProtiGrain and CropPower85. ProtiGrain is a protein feedstuff derived from bioethanol by-products. CropPower85 is a fuel for the use in flexible fuel vehicles (FFVs). It is composed of up to 86% bioethanol. CropEnergies AG operates six wholly owned subsidiaries: CropEnergies Beteiligungs GmbH in Mannheim, Germany, which is a German intermediate holding company that has no own production; CropEnergies Bioethanol GmbH in Zeitz, Germany; BioWanze SA in Brussels, Belgium; Compagnie Financiere de l'Artois SA in Paris, France; Ryssen Alcools SAS in Loon-Plage, France, and CropEnergies Inc in Houston, the United States, as well as a 50%-owned CT Biocarbonic GmbH in Zeitz, Germany, which produces and sells liquefied carbon dioxide. It has production facilities in Germany, Belgium and France. Suedzucker AG is the majority shareholder of CropEnergies AG.
