Catlin group Limited, through its consolidated subsidiaries and subsidiary undertakings, is engaged in property insurance and casualty insurance, and reinsurance underwriting. The Company operates in four business segments: Catlin Syndicate, which comprises direct insurance and reinsurance business underwritten by the Group’s syndicates at Lloyd’s; Catlin Bermuda, which primarily underwrites reinsurance business, excluding intra-Group reinsurance; Catlin UK, which primarily underwrites direct insurance and Catlin US, which underwrites specialty business in the United States. On September 2, 2008, the Company, through Catlin Inc., one of its subsidiaries, sold it 25% membership interests in Southern Risk Operations, LLC (SRO).
