Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (Check Point), incorporated in July 1993, develops technologies to communications and transactions over the Internet by enterprises and consumers. Check Point develops, markets and supports a range of software, as well as combined hardware and software products and services for information technology (IT) security. The Company offers its customers a portfolio of network and gateway security solutions, data and endpoint security solutions and management solutions. On April 17, 2012, it introduced ThreatCloud and GAiA unified secure operating system. On November 24, 2011, it acquired Dynasec Ltd.
The Company derives its revenues mainly from products, licenses, combined hardware and software products, software updates and maintenance and subscriptions. The Company sells its products worldwide primarily through multiple distribution channels (channel partners), including distributors, resellers, system integrators, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), system integrators and managed security service providers (MSPs). It also sells its products through its Website. Check Point's Check Point 3D Security combines policy, people and enforcement.
The architecture provides customers with the ability to tailor their security gateways based on their specific needs at any time. It offers enterprises a common platform to deploy independent, modular and interoperable security applications or software blades, such as firewall, virtual private network (VPN), intrusion prevention system (IPS), Data Loss prevention, anti-virus, policy management, event analysis, or multi-domain management. The Company’s range of network security gateways allows its customers to implement their security policies on network traffic between internal networks and the Internet, as well as between internal networks and private networks that are shared with partners. These gateways are available as either appliances or software solutions. The Anti-Bot Software Blade detects bot-infected machines, prevents bot damages by blocking bot command & control communications, and integrates with other software blades.
The Company’s appliances include 2200 appliance, 4000 appliances, 12000 appliances, 21400 appliance, 61000 security system, power-1 appliances, IP appliances, UTM-1 appliances, series 80 appliances, and safe@office and UTM-1 Edge N series appliances. Check Point has multiple offerings enabling consolidating up to 250 physical Check Point gateways into a single hardware platform. The Company’s endpoint security offerings provide multiple software blades that run on individual computers connected to the network, such as desktop computers, laptop computers and other mobile devices. Its endpoint security offerings include firewall & security compliance software blade, full disk encryption (FDE) software blade, media encryption (ME) and port protection software blade, remote access VPN software blade, WebCheck secure browsing software blade and anti-malware and program control software blade. The endpoint security software blades are integrated into a single endpoint security agent with a single client, single interface, single login and single scan. The Company’s software blades included in its management offerings are network policy management software blade, endpoint policy management software blade, logging & status software blade, monitoring software blad, management portal software blade, user directory software blade, IPS event analysis software blade, SmartProvisioning software blade, SmartWorkflow software blade, reporting software blade, SmartEvent software blade and multi-domain software blades. The Company also offers its SMART-1 security management appliances that combine functionality, storage and turn-key deployment into a single device. Check Point offers integrated solutions that are sold and serviced jointly with partners including Crossbeam Systems Inc. and International Business Machines Corporation (IBM).
Check Point’s technologies include Stateful Inspection technology, application intelligence, security management architecture (SMART), security and network traffic enforcement, SecurePlatform, ClusterXL, CoreXL, SecureXL, TrueVector, full disk encryption secure pre-boot environment, hybrid detection engine (HDE), intrusion prevention with confidence indexing, precision virtualization and Open Platform For Security (OPSEC).
