Check Point Software Technologies Ltd (Check point), incorporated in July 1993, develops, markets and supports a range of products and services for information technology (IT) security. The Checkpoint’s Software Blade architecture offers enterprises a common platform to deploy independent, modular and interoperable security applications (Software Blades) such as firewall, virtual private network (VPN), intrusion prevention system (IPS), Application Control, Anti-Bot, antivirus, data loss prevention (DLP), policy management, event analysis, or multi-domain management. Software-defined Protection (SDP) is a security architecture and methodology that offers a modular and secure infrastructure.
The Software Blades include Firewall Software Blade, Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) Software Blade, Data Loss Prevention Software Blade, Application Control Software Blade, Web Security Software Blade and Antivirus Software Blade, and among others.
The Checkpoint’s appliances include 600 Appliances, 2200 Appliances, 4000 Appliances and 21000 Appliances, among others. Check Point also offers software blades grouped into functional packages to address specific security issues that include Next Generation Firewall, Next Generation Threat Prevention, Next Generation Secure Gateway and Next Generation Data Protection. Check Point’s ThreatCloud is the network to fight cybercrime, gathers threat data across the world network of threat sensors and distributes threat intelligence to security gateways around the globe.
Virtualization and Cloud Computing are used in the datacenter and IT industry providing shared computing services to outsource certain IT functions, including through cloud computing. Check Point Security solutions adopt virtualization to consolidate up to 250 physical Check Point gateways into a single hardware platform. The hardware platform includes Virtual Systems and VSX, Security Gateway Virtual Edition (VE) and Virtual Appliance for Amazon Web Services.
