Colgate-Palmolive Company (Colgate), incorporated in 1923, is a consumer products company whose products are marketed in over 200 countries and territories globally. The Company operates its business through two product segments: Oral, Personal and Home Care, and Pet Nutrition. Colgate’s Oral Care products include Colgate Total and Colgate Max Fresh toothpastes, Colgate 360° manual toothbrushes, and Colgate and Colgate Plax oral rinses. Colgate’s Oral Care business also includes dental floss and pharmaceutical products for dentists and other oral health professionals. Colgate’s Personal Care products include Palmolive and Softsoap brand shower gels; Palmolive, Irish Spring and Protex bar soaps and Speed Stick and Lady Speed Stick deodorants and antiperspirants. Colgate’s Personal Care businesses outside the United States include the Palmolive shampoo and the conditioners. Colgate manufactures and markets a range of products for Home Care, including Palmolive and Ajax dishwashing liquids, Fabuloso and Ajax household cleaners, and Murphy’s Oil Soap. Colgate, through its Hill’s Pet Nutrition (Hill’s) segment, offers specialty pet nutrition products for dogs and cats with products marketed in over 90 countries globally.

Colgate offers fabric conditioners with brands, including Suavitel in Latin America and Soupline in Europe. During the year ended December 31, 2008, sales for the Oral, Personal and Home Care products accounted for 41%, 22% and 23%, respectively, of total global sales. Hill’s markets pet foods primarily under two trademarks: Science Diet, which is sold by authorized pet supply retailers and veterinarians for everyday nutritional needs; and Prescription Diet, a range of therapeutic products sold by veterinarians to help nutritionally manage disease conditions in dogs and cats. Sales of pet nutrition products accounted for 14% of the Company’s global sales in 2008.
