Det norske Oljeselskap ASA (Det norske) is a Norway-based oil company engaged in the exploration, development and production of petroleum resources on the Norwegian continental shelf, including the North Sea, the Norwegian Sea and the Barents Sea. The Company is focused on exploring in Norway for new hydrocarbon resources. The Company’s upstream activities are organized in four units: Exploration, Field development and operations, Projects, and Johan Sverdrup. The Company also has overseas operations, which are related to construction and engineering of field development projects. The Company has interest in five producing fields: Atla (10%), Glitne (10%), Jotun (7%), Varg (5%) and Enoch (2%). The Company has offices located in the Norwegian cities of Trondheim, Harstad and Oslo. The Company is 49.9%-owned by Aker Capital AS. In August, 2013, the Company purchased Seismic Data Package from Norwegian Petroleum Directorate.
