NOW Inc. (NOW), incorporated on November 22, 2013, is a global distributor to energy and industrial markets. The Company operates primarily under the DistributionNOW and Wilson Export brands. The Company operates through three segments: United States (U.S.), Canada and International. Through its network of over 300 locations across the world, it stocks and sells an offering of energy products, as well as a selection of products for industrial applications. The Company's energy product offering is consumed throughout all sectors of the oil and gas industry from upstream drilling and completion, exploration and production (E&P), midstream infrastructure development to downstream petroleum refining, as well as in other industries, such as chemical processing, utilities and industrial manufacturing operations. The industrial distribution portion of its business targets a range of end markets, including manufacturing, engineering and construction and refineries. The Company also provides supply chain management to drilling contractors, E&P operators, midstream operators and downstream energy, and industrial manufacturing companies around the world.
The Company's global product offering includes consumable maintenance, repair and operating (MRO) supplies, pipe, valves, fittings, flanges, electrical, artificial lift solutions, pumps, mill tools, safety supplies and spare parts to support customers' operations. The Company provides a one-stop shop value proposition within the energy market and particularly in the areas of artificial lift, measurement and controls and valve actuation. It also offers warehouse and inventory management solutions as part of a supply chain and materials management offering.
The Company's supply chain solutions include outsourcing the functions of procurement, inventory and warehouse management, logistics, point of issue technology, project management, business process and performance metrics reporting. This solution allows the Company to leverage the infrastructure of its Systems Applications Products (SAP) Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and others to update its customers' purchasing process, from requisition to procurement to payment, by digitally managing workflow, improving approval routing and providing reporting functionality.
NOW supports land and offshore operations for all the oil and gas producing regions around the world through its network energy branch locations. Its markets beyond North America include Latin America, the North Sea, the Middle East, Asia Pacific and the Former Soviet Union (FSU). Products sold through its energy branch locations support greenfield and expansion plant capital projects, midstream infrastructure, MRO and manufacturing consumables used in day-to-day production. It provides downstream energy and industrial products for petroleum refining, chemical processing, power generation and industrial manufacturing operations through Supply Chain and customer on-site locations. The Company stocks or sells over 300,000 stock keeping units (SKUs) through its branch network. Its supplier network consists of thousands of vendors in approximately 40 countries. From its operations in over 20 countries, it sells to customers operating in approximately 90 countries. It employs information technologies, including an ERP platform across all of its business, to provide procurement, materials management and logistics coordination to its customers around the globe. The Company owns or leases approximately 300 facilities around the world, which totals approximately 5.4 million square feet.
The Company has approximately 200 locations in the United States, which are geographically positioned to serve the upstream, midstream and downstream energy and industrial markets. The Company also has an one-stop shop specialty operations in the United States that provide its customers an opportunity to purchase artificial lift, pumps, valves and valve actuation, measurement and controls, and fluid transfer products, which enables them to focus on their business. In these businesses, the Company provides additional value to its customers through the design, assembly, fabrication and optimization of products and equipment essential to the production of oil and gas.
The Company has a network of over 60 locations in the Canadian oilfield, primarily in the oil rich provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan in Western Canada. The Company's Canadian segment primarily serves the energy exploration, production, drilling and midstream business, offering customers the same products and solutions that it performs in the United States. In Canada, it also provides training for and supervises the installation of fiberglass pipe.
The Company operates in over 20 countries and serves the needs of its international customers from approximately 40 locations outside of the United States and Canada, all of which are located in oil and gas development areas. The Company's International segment primarily serves the energy exploration, production and drilling business. Its International properties include Australia, Azerbaijan, Brazil, China, Colombia, England, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Oman, Russia, Scotland, Singapore and United Arab Emirates.
