Domino’s Pizza, Inc. (Domino’s) is a pizza delivery company in the United States. It operates through a network of 8,773 Company-owned and franchise stores, located in all 50 states and in more than 60 countries. In addition, it operates 17 regional dough manufacturing and supply chain centers in the United States and six dough manufacturing and supply chain centers outside the United States. The Company operates through three segments: domestic stores, domestic supply chain and international. Domestic stores segment comprises of 4,558 franchise stores and 489 Company-owned stores. Domestic supply chain manufactures dough, processes vegetables and distributes food, equipment and supplies to its Company-owned stores. International segment oversees 3,726 franchise stores outside the United States. It also manufactures dough and distributes food and supplies in a limited number of these markets.

Domestic stores

The Company’s domestic franchises are operated by entrepreneurs who own and operate an average of three to four stores. Its domestic Company-owned store operations are divided into eleven geographic areas located throughout the United States while its domestic franchise operations are divided into four regions. Its team members provide direct supervision over domestic Company-owned stores; provide training, store operational audits and marketing services, and provide financial analysis and store development services to its franchisees.

Domestic supply chain

Domestic supply chain segment is comprised of dough manufacturing and supply chain centers that manufacture fresh dough on a daily basis and purchase, receive, store and deliver pizza-related food products and complementary side items to all of its Company-owned stores and its domestic franchise stores. The Company supplies 5,000 stores with various supplies and ingredients. During the fiscal year ended December 28, 2008 (fiscal 2008), the Company made 575,000 full-service deliveries and produced over 273 million pounds of dough. It uses routing strategies and software for its daily delivery schedules.

International

International segment has 592 franchise stores in Mexico, 512 franchise stores in the United Kingdom, 412 franchise stores in Australia, 305 franchise stores in South Korea, 296 franchise stores in Canada, 227 franchise stores in India and over 100 franchise stores in each of Japan, France, Taiwan and Turkey. The principal sources of revenues from its international operations are royalty payments generated by retail sales from franchise stores and sales of food and supplies to franchisees in certain markets.

The Company competes with Pizza Hut and Papa John’s.
