Enel SpA, is an electricity operator in Italy. The Company produces, distributes, and sells electricity and natural gas across Europe, Russia, North America and Latin America. The Company operates a range of hydroelectric, thermoelectric, nuclear, geothermal, wind-power, photovoltaic and biomass power stations. The Company has presence in 22 countries with approximately 94,300 megawatt of generating capacity and serves about 61 million power and gas customers. As of December 31, 2008, Enel SpA operated in four divisions: The Domestic Sales, Domestic Generation and Energy Management, Domestic Infrastructure and Networks, and International Divisions. The Company operates in Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, El Salvador, France, Greece, Guatemala, Italy, Mexico, Panama, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Spain and in the United States. With its subsidiary Endesa SA, the Company’s presence has extended also in Argentina, Colombia, Morocco, Peru and Portugal.
