First Resources Limited is an investment holding company. The Company is engaged in cultivating oil palm (CPO) trees and processing the harvested fresh fruits bunches (FFB) into crude palm oil and palm kernel (PK). As of December 31, 2008, the Company had a total of 95,241 hectares of planted oil palm plantations, of which 62,616 hectares (66%) are mature and yielding. It had seven palm oil mills with an aggregate processing capacity of 2.34 million tons of FFB per year. It produced 322,678 tons of CPO, 76,332 tons of PK and 1,403,794 tons of FFB in 2008. As at December 31, 2008, the Company had 95,241 hectares of planted oil palm plantations under management, of which 11,165 hectares were under the smallholder ownership schemes. In 2008, it harvested 1.4 million tons of FFB.
