Guess?, Inc., incorporated on August 3, 1993, designs, markets, distributes and licenses a lifestyle collections of apparel and accessories for men, women and children. The Company operates through five segments: Americas Retail, Europe, Asia, Americas Wholesale and Licensing. The Company's apparel is marketed under various names, including GUESS, GUESS?, GUESS U.S.A., GUESS Jeans, GUESS? and Triangle Design, MARCIANO, Question Mark and Triangle Design, G and M, GUESS Kids, Baby GUESS, YES, G by GUESS, GUESS by MARCIANO and Gc. The lines include collections of clothing, including jeans, pants, skirts, dresses, shorts, blouses, shirts, jackets, knitwear and intimate apparel. The Company also grants licenses to manufacture and distribute a range of products that complement its apparel lines, including eyewear, watches, handbags, footwear, kids' and infants' apparel, outerwear, fragrance, jewelry and other fashion accessories. It also offers specialty product lines that include MARCIANO, targeted to women and men, and GUESS Kids, targeted to boys and girls ages 6 to 12. Its products are sold through direct-to-consumer, wholesale and licensing distribution channels.
As of January 28, 2017, it had directly operated 339 stores in the United States, 111 stores in Canada and a total of 495 stores outside of the United States and Canada. As of January 28, 2017, it had also directly operated an additional 254 smaller-sized concessions mainly in Asia and Europe. As of January 28, 2017, it had operated retail Websites in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Europe, South Korea and China. As of January 28, 2017, it had e-commerce available to 55 countries and in nine languages around the world. It sells through both domestic and international wholesale distribution channels, as well as licensee operated retail stores and concessions. The Americas Retail segment includes the Company's retail and e-commerce operations in North and Central America and its retail operations in South America. In its Americas Retail segment, the Company sells its products through a network of directly operated retail and factory outlet stores and e-commerce sites in the Americas. Its the United States and Canada GUESS? factory outlet stores are located in outlet malls generally operating outside the shopping radius of its wholesale customers and its full-price retail stores. These stores sell selected styles of men's and women's GUESS? apparel and accessories, in addition to certain G by GUESS merchandise in select locations. Its the United States and Canada GUESS? factory accessories stores sell GUESS? and MARCIANO labeled accessory products and are located primarily in outlet malls. Its full-price the United States and Canada GUESS? retail stores carry an assortment of men's and women's GUESS? merchandise (and women's MARCIANO merchandise in select locations).

Its G by GUESS store concept targets a market demographic that shops price points below its GUESS? retail stores and carries apparel for both men and women and a line of accessories and footwear. In addition to these stores, as of January 28, 2017, it had also directly operated 42 stores and 30 concessions in Mexico and nine stores in Brazil through its majority-owned joint ventures. The Europe segment includes the Company's retail, e-commerce and wholesale operations in Europe and the Middle East. In its Europe segment, the Company sells its products through direct-to-consumer and wholesale channels, primarily throughout Europe and the Middle East. Its European retail stores and concessions consists of a mix of directly operated and licensee operated GUESS? and MARCIANO retail and outlet stores, GUESS? Accessories retail and outlet stores, GUESS? Kids stores, Gc stores, GUESS? Footwear stores and G by GUESS stores. The Company sells both its apparel and certain accessories products under its GUESS? and MARCIANO brand concepts through its wholesale channel, operating primarily through two seasons, Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter.
The Asia segment includes the Company's retail, e-commerce and wholesale operations in Asia. In its Asia segment, the Company sells its products through direct-to-consumer and wholesale channels throughout Asia. Its direct-to-consumer channel consists of brick-and-mortar retail stores and concessions and e-commerce sites. Its Asia retail stores and concessions include both licensee and directly operated stores, including GUESS?, GUESS? Kids, GUESS? Accessories, GUESS? Underwear, Gc and GUESS? Footwear stores. Its Asia wholesale customer base includes primarily of a small number of selected distributors with which it has contractual distribution arrangements and licensee operated stores and concessions.
The Americas Wholesale segment includes the Company's wholesale operations in the Americas. In its Americas Wholesale segment, the Company sells its products through wholesale channels throughout the Americas and to third-party distributors based in Central and South America. Its Americas Wholesale customers consist primarily of department stores, select specialty retailers and upscale boutiques, as well as select off-price retailers. As of January 28, 2017, its products were sold to consumers through 992 major doors in the United States and Canada, as well as through its customer's e-commerce sites. As of January 28, 2017, these locations included 495 shop-in-shops, a designated selling area within a department store that offers an array of its products and incorporated GUESS? signage and fixture designs. As of January 28, 2017, it also had two stores and one smaller-sized concession in the United States.
The Licensing segment includes the around the world licensing operations of the Company. The Company has various domestic and international licenses that include eyewear, watches, handbags, footwear, kids' and infants' apparel, outerwear, fragrance, jewelry and other fashion accessories; and include licenses for the distribution and manufacture of GUESS? branded products in markets, which include Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, the Middle East, Central America, North America and South America.
