G-III Apparel Group, Ltd. (G-III), incorporated on October 17, 1989, designs, manufactures, and markets a range of apparel products. The Company's apparel products include outerwear, dresses, sportswear, swimwear, women's suits and women's performance wear, as well as footwear, luggage and women's handbags, small leather goods and cold weather accessories. The Company sells its products under its own brands, licensed brands and private retail labels. The Company operates through three segments, Licensed Products, Non-Licensed Products, and Retail Operations.
The Company's Licensed Products segment includes sales of products under brands licensed by the Company from third parties. G-III's licensed apparel consists of both women's and men's products in a range of categories. The Company sells products under a portfolio of licensed brands, including Calvin Klein, Kenneth Cole, Guess?, Cole Haan and Tommy Hilfiger. In its team sports business, the Company has licenses with the National Football League, National Basketball Association, Major League Baseball, National Hockey League, Touch by Alyssa Milano and approximately 100 United States colleges and universities. The Company's products are sold through retailers, such as Macy's, Bloomingdale's, Dillard's, The Bon-Ton Stores, Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue, Lord & Taylor and JC Penney.
The Company's Non-Licensed Products segment includes sales of products under its own brands and private label brands. The Company sells a range of products under proprietary brands. Its Vilebrequin line of swimwear, resort wear and related accessories is sold through a network of company owned and franchised specialty retail stores and shops, as well as through select wholesale distribution. As of December 31, 2014, Vilebrequin products were distributed through 77 Company owned stores and 23 franchise partners, as well as through select wholesale distribution. The Company sells Bass and G.H. Bass footwear, apparel and accessories in its outlet stores and through licensees. It sells the Andrew Marc line of women's and men's outerwear and apparel to department and specialty retail stores. The Marc New York line of women's and men's better priced outerwear and apparel is sold to upper tier stores. Eliza J is a better dress line that sells to better department and specialty stores. The Jessica Howard label is a moderate price dress line that it sells to department stores, specialty stores and catalogs. The Black Rivet line of apparel consists of women's and men's outerwear. The Company sells men's team sports-related apparel under its G-III Sports by Carl Banks label.
The Company's Retail Operations segment consists primarily of its Wilsons and G.H. Bass stores, as well as a limited number of Andrew Marc retail stores and Calvin Klein Performance stores. The Company distributes through its own retail stores. As of December 31, 2014, the retail operations segment consisted of 346 retail stores in 43 states and Puerto Rico, of which 185 are stores operated under the Wilsons Leather name, 156 are stores operated under its G.H. Bass brand and 5 stores are operated under the licensed Calvin Klein Performance brand. Its Wilsons Leather and G.H. Bass stores are operated as outlet stores and located in outlet centers with Wilsons Leather's stores averaging approximately 3,735 square feet and G.H. Bass stores averaging approximately 6,300 square feet. As of December 31, 2014, it operated 17 full price Wilsons Leather mall stores.
