Gol Linhas Aereas Inteligentes S.A. (GOL), incorporated on March 12, 2004, is an airline company. The Company is engaged in providing mobile geolocation services to its passengers and designing a Website featuring accessibility resources to assist people with visual and motor impairments. The Company operates through two segments: Air transportation and Loyalty program. Air transportation segment operations originate from its subsidiary Gol Linhas Aereas S.A. (GLA) for the provision of air transportation services. Its operations also include cargo operations and excess baggage. Loyalty program segment operations are represented by the sale of mileage to air and non-air partner companies, which includes the management of the program, the sale of reward redemption rights and the creation and management of an individual and corporate database.
The Company is engaged in controlling its subsidiaries, which include GLA, which explores the regular and non-regular flight transportation services of passengers, cargo and mailbags, domestically or internationally, according to the concessions granted by the competent authorities, and complementary activities of flight transport services provided in its by-laws, and Smiles S.A. (Smiles), which operates the development and management of its own or third-party's customer loyalty program and the sale of redemption rights of rewards related to the loyalty program. The Company's direct subsidiaries include GAC Inc. (GAC), Gol Finance Inc. (Gol Finance), Gol LuxCo S.A. (Gol LuxCo) and Gol Dominicana Lineas Aereas SAS (Gol Dominicana). Its indirect subsidiary is Webjet Participacoes S.A. (Webjet).
The Company's fleet has approximately 130 Boeing Boeing 737-700 and Boeing 737-800. It offers GOL+ Conforto seats for an additional fee. It offers a range of on-board services for domestic flights and international flights. For domestic flights, it offers Mae Terra snacks, Air shuttle and In-flight Sales. For international flights, it offers meals, snacks and beverages. It also offers drinks and vegetarian options, depending on the length of the flight. It also provides other items, such as blankets, pillows and dental kits. Its GOL Premium Class offers priority check-in and boarding, free access to the GOL Premium Lounge, carry-on baggage compartments, seats with legroom, comfort kit, preferential onboard service and lavatory. The passenger can reschedule to an earlier flight. The GOL International Premium Lounge and GOL Domestic Premium Lounge are located in Sao Paulo's Guarulhos International Airport (GRU) and Rio de Janeiro's Galeao International Airport (GIG). It offers shuttle service between Congonhas (CGH) and Guarulhos (GRU) airports to all of its clients. The GOL shuttle has air-conditioning, a restroom, live television and wireless fidelity (Wi-Fi). It offers onboard entertainment with the print and digital versions of the GOL magazine. The passenger can check in using Twitter.
The Company's Conte Comigo (Count on Me) is an area located within the boarding areas of the Congonhas (Sao Paulo), Santos Dumont (Rio de Janeiro) and Galeao (Rio de Janeiro) airports. The area is equipped with telephones to contact the Company's Customer Service Center and Smiles Program directly and features self-service kiosks where the passenger can check their flight status; change their seat; reschedule to an earlier flight, reschedule to a later flight or cancel a flight; change their flight in the case of reassignment, and print food, transportation, lodging and communication vouchers when necessary. Its Express Baggage service allows the passenger to weight and tag the baggage themselves. Express Baggage service is available for all regular flights operated by GOL departing from Congonhas Airport in Sao Paulo, Santos Dumont Airport in Rio de Janeiro, Florianopolis Airport in Santa Catarina and from Goiania Airport in Goias. The GOL application uses the geolocation function of the passengers' cell phone to determine where they are, inform them of the time to leave for the airport, provide traffic information and calculate the estimated travel time to the airport. It allow passengers to use portable electronic devices on its aircraft. Passengers seeking comfort and privacy can purchase an extra seat on GOL flights. Pets can travel on every domestic and international flight operated by GOL. It offers pre-purchasing excess baggage allowance. It offers Travel Companion service for customers purchasing the unaccompanied minor service. The child wears a tracking code wristband so the parents can receive updates on every stage of his or her trip on their GOL application or through e-mail, from check-in to the final destination.
