Hammerson PLC is a real estate investment trust (REIT) engaged in investing, developing and managing real estate assets in the retail and office sectors in two markets: the Untied Kingdom and France. The Company has investments in 15 shopping centers and 19 retail parks providing a total of 1.4 million square meter of retail space. The Company owns nine office buildings, in central London and Paris, which provide over 255,000 square meters of accommodation. The Company’s portfolio includes United Kingdom shopping centers, France retail, France offices, Germany retail, United Kingdom offices and United Kingdom retail parks. The wholly owned subsidiaries of the Company include Hammerson International Holdings Ltd, Hammerson UK Properties plc, Grantchester Holdings Ltd, Hammerson (99 Bishopsgate) Ltd, Hammerson SAS and Hammerson Europe BV. In September 2008, Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan acquired a 10% stake in the Company.
