The Company has four segments: Global Markets, United Kingdom and Europe, International and Corporate Centre. Global Markets segment comprises the results of Syndicate 33, excluding Syndicate 33’s fine art, United Kingdom regional events coverage and non-United States household business. United Kingdom and Europe segment comprises the results of Hiscox Insurance Company Limited. International comprises the results of Hiscox Insurance Company (Guernsey) Limited, Hiscox Inc., Hiscox Insurance Company (Bermuda) Limited and the ALTOHA sub-group. On September 30, 2008, it acquired Amershill Limited. On November 3, 2008, Hiscox Ltd disposed of its Hiscox Select A to J Limited subsidiaries.
