The Company's Galaxy 13 satellite provides high definition neighborhood in North America, and its Galaxy fleet distributes approximately 325 high definition channels, and the Company distributes approximately 5,500 television (TV) channels, including over 750 high definition channels. It delivers programming to over 31 million subscribers and supporting over 30 direct to home (DTH) platforms around the world, including DIRECTV in Latin America, Orion in Russia, Global Village Telecom (GVT) in Brazil, Multichoice in Africa, and Canal+ in multiple regions.
The Company is a provider of satellite capacity for network services. The Company's satellite capacity, paired with its terrestrial network consists of leased fiber, teleports and data networking platforms, enables the transmission of video, data and voice to and from virtually any point on the surface of the earth. Its IntelsatOne network includes regional shared data networking platforms at its teleports that are connected to approximately 40 of its satellites. The Company provides satellite capacity for satellite-based private data networks, including very small aperture terminal (VSAT) networks.
