Jazztel Plc (Jazztel), incorporated on July 8, 1998, is a holding company for JAZZTEL Group that provides telecommunications services. The Company operates through two business segments: Retailers and Wholesalers. The JAZZTEL Group is made up of a parent company, Jazztel P.L.C. (Jazztel) that holds direct control over Jazzcom Limited and Jazz Telecom, S.A.U. (Jazz Telecom), and Jazzplat, S.A., Jazzplat Chile Call Center, S.L. and Jazzplat Colombia, S.A.S through the latter and Jazzplat Espana, S.L., as well as other non-active companies. Jazz Telecom, S.A.U. offers telecommunications services in Spain.
The Company offers its telecommunications services to three customer segments, such as residential, corporate and wholesale. The Company offers fixed telephony, fixed broadband and mobile services to residential customers across Spain through a range of double and triple play packages leveraging its digital subscriber line (DSL) and fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) networks The Company offers telecommunications solutions to small offices and home offices (SOHOs), and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The Company offers a range of services to other telecommunications operators, which do not have their own network in Spain.
The JAZZTEL Group's network is made up of four elements: The National Backbone Network, Metropolitan Area Networks (MANs), The xDSL Network and Multiservice nodes. The Company's network comprises backbone of 20,263 kilometers, local access fiber of 16,103 kilometers and ULL (unbundling local loop) local exchanges. As of December 31, 2014, Jazztel had 1,122 ULL exchanges in operation. The Company covers 3,007,035 households in Spain with its own FTTH network. The Company has various categories of points of presence in 50 provinces. Its multiservice nodes are located in Madrid (two), Barcelona (two), Valencia and Seville. The Company operates three call centers, including one in Chile, one in Colombia and one in Spain. Jazztel has over 200 inter-connection points in place in Spain, most with its own network (Optical Inter-connection Points). Jazztel also has points of presence outside Spain where it exchanges both voice traffic and data (peering).
The JAZZTEL Group offers convergent services, such as landline telephony, data services (such as virtual private networks or VPNs), Internet and mobile, over its own infrastructure (direct access services) or via third-party infrastructure (indirect access services). The JAZZTEL Group also offers a range of advanced solutions (value added services), such as the hosting of information and Websites on JAZZTEL servers, software engineering, management solution development, among others.
The Company competes with Telefonica, Vodafone, Orange and Yoigo.
