JJB Sports plc is a sports retailer supplying branded sports and leisure clothing, footwear and accessories. The Company operates in two segments, being the retailing of a range of sports clothing, footwear and equipment, and of the operation of fitness clubs. The Company principally operates in the United Kingdom and Eire. On January 28, 2008, the Company acquired Original Shoe Company. On April 12, 2008, the Company acquired privately held Qubefootwear Ltd. On February 19, 2009, Original Shoe Company and Qubefootwear, the two companies comprising the Lifestyle Division, were placed into administration. On March 25, 2009, the Company completed the disposal of the fitness clubs business comprising 53 fitness clubs, adjoining stores and related stock to Dave Whelan Sports Ltd.
